I give Jeff O'Neill two more years before he's too fat to move at all.

It was my time finally to mork him.

There has to be another move coming. They have a logjam at defense.

You didn't Morkle me. I'm not opening up a separate thread for this nonsense. Next time create a single trade deadline thread.

Sorry, I meant a single thread for each move. That's just dumb.

Well, the bottom 6 is different. I’m not sure it’s significantly better…maybe some addition by subtraction here as well.

I thought we needed to get younger, faster, bigger, more physical. We accomplished none of that.

The existing bottom 6 mix needed a shakeup and we got it. Just maybe not the way we all imagined.

I consider today a win, they got out of McGinn/Kapanen contracts, and Granlund's deal now doesn't look terrible.

If they do nothing else, then fine. Hextall helped the team financially, but he's still a goner at season's end.

I don't see how McGinn and Kapanen out makes the Granlund deal less worse... it's still 2 more years at $5.5mil for a 31 year old who had previously been declining.

If he doesn't decline while on the Pens then it does. I don't care how he performed elsewhere, to be honest.

That certainly makes talent evaluation super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I mean, does it really matter how he played elsewhere if he performs well here?

I think if the Pens can get out of Kapanen/McGinn - and other teams can get out of the BS they've been doing all week, I have no fear that they can't get out from Granlund.

Under 35, no NMC/NTC, I bet it's a moveable contract for sure. So he either produces, or the next GM fixes it. I have more faith about that.

No, but one could very reasonably suggest that how he played elsewhere greatly reduces the odds he performs well here.

Well that's good then because he scored 64 points last year and is on pace for 50 this year. Same as Bryan rust who makes the same amount of money at the same age...
