The absolute lowest Kapanen could be awarded (and this won't happen) is $1.989 mil.

You look at Luke Kunin's deal at $2.75 mil, Pierre Engvall at $2.25 mil, Dominik Kubalik - although, he was set loose - at $2.5 mil. I imagine we're looking somewhere in there. Kunin isn't really worth his deal, that seemed a bit high...Kubalik is probably worth a bit more, so it all balances. But I'd have to think Kapanen's cap hit comes down a bit as a result of this...

Yes, I believe so. Unless he gets a two year deal in arbitration, of course...or, a two-year (or longer) deal as a settlement pre-arbitration...
