Yinz are crazy letting Letang and Malkin walk. Get ahold of yinzselves
Where is the $$$$ coming from to keep them and still have a competitive team?

You are paying for diminishing returns at this point depending on what they want.
Yup. Sure are. Write them the check.

Rust is gonna get paid and that’s a bummer, but I’d love to see him back.

I'd wager three of Geno, Letang and Rakell are back. And I'd probably even say Geno is a lock, and it's two of the other 3
now wait one minute....

what are the top 3?

Islanders 75, Islanders 93, Panthers 96
I'll second this.

Geno is a lock.

Heinen is RFA with a low QO so he might actually also be back.

Kapanen won't be qualified.

I don't hate Heinen coming back. It's low risk, decent reward

Kapenen I’d fire into the sun.

Zucker, tough to move that guy but would be nice if he give them just one healthy year.

I still don’t like the Carter deal, but whatever.

They’re going to be able to try and retinker the bottom 9. Will be fun to watch.

You have to be smart with your finances. Look how this franchise has backed themselves into a financial corner the last few years and especially this one. If you lay out too much money to too many 34 & older players, you're asking to stunt your future growth for trying to recapture past glory. We've seen it the last 4 seasons and it hasn't worked. They need to think differently and start making themselves into a hybrid of what works in the regular season and what beats them in the postseason. This team needs an infusion of young talent like the kind that has been responsible for the series wins by Carolina, Florida, and NYR. Had the Leafs won their series, it would have been very striking how all 4 eliminated East teams all had pretty much the same characteristic.

Mmmmmmm...93 & 96, they had 3-2 series leads and yakked Game 7 at home. In 93, the Isles lost their best player thanks to Dale Hunter and the Pens came out and laid an egg in Game 1 to give the Isles some hope. Even with that, the Pens had an exponential advantage in talent and just got beat. 96 was the clutch & grab BS and I'll give you a nod on that one. The league got what they deserved in the Final with that awful Avs-Panthers series instead of what could have been an electric Avs-Penguins matchup.

I believe lgp was spanking it after the loss tonight because they have been calling for his head as well.

He's not going anywhere IMO.

Why would you fire Sullivan? He’s like the least of my concerns going into next year.

No playoff series wins since the 2017 cup, I assume. Not sure what the proposal is to replace him.

Beat the Flyers in 18's first round and then lost to the Craps in the ECSF.

Yeah I think he's done a fine job.

2018 - coming off back to back cups. Could have went 20-62 and I might not have cared.
2019 - this one was bad. One in the minus column for Sully
2020 - covid, who gives a f
2021 - Stan Bowman's Cup champs wouldn't have won that series with that version of Jarry
2022 - we played 5.5 games with Louis Domingue, no Dumo, no Sid for 1.5 games, no Rakell for 5.5 games... Sucks, but he did a good job all things considered imo

For whatever reason, fans always want to blame the coach. I don't think they're that far off in Sully's case, especially when it comes to the playoff performance, but I would absolutely NOT get rid of him. If not for him, this team doesn't make the playoffs this season given all of the BS they had to put up with given the injuries and trying to rehab Jarry after the playoffs last year. As I've said elsewhere, they need a new way of thinking and it starts with the type of player the front office acquires.

I don’t think or expect HCMS to be gone, but at the end of the day we’re in uncharted territory with a new ownership group. Anything could happen.

Hard to get too down on Sullivan when we all knew this wasn't a championship caliber roster

Bad takes Monday.

-Matheson is at fault for pucks going in off his skates
-Letang was back in the play after helmetgate and should have defended better and really helmetgate didn't impact anything
-Marino shouldn't have made the same outlet pass the pens have been using since 2016

Interesting takes I've seen recently. Are Hextall/Burke on the Hot Seat because the new ownership group is here now and they're not the ones that hired them.
