Seems about right. I was thinking 1.25, so not too far off from what I figured he'd get.

I am guessing this means Cullen is a no go then...

Yeah. I think somebody would have to be moved if Cullen is to return.

Trade Fehr? Wilson and some younger guys can do what he does for less $$Yeah. I think somebody would have to be moved if Cullen is to return.

I wouldn't trade Fehr to be able to re-sign Cullen, personally.

I don't know if you trade a 30 year old in order to bring back a 40 year old.

Nice. That's cheaper than I thought he would be. I was thinking he'd want more in the $2-2.5 million range.
I wonder what Pouliot's future with the organization is. I think Pouliot's ceiling is pretty much where Schultz is now--3rd pairing guy who plays sheltered minutes, but can contribute on the PP. I don't see both fitting long-term. But I guess a one-year deal for Schultz allows them to see how it goes for both of them and make a longer-term decision next year.

I'm good with this. We needed a RHS, NHL caliber d-man. Good value.

Good deal. Letang, Dumo, Maatta, Daley, Cole. Schultz. Wonder what this spells for Pouliot's future. Also, I wouldn't trade Fehr to make salary space for Cullen specifically, but I wouldn't be opposed to trading Fehr.

My guess is this is Pouliot's final chance to show that he belongs - both in the NHL, as well as a member of the Penguins organization. If he succeeds, we both benefit. If he fails, well, you can't say that you didn't get a fair shot.

We now know the answer.I'm sure there are. The question is, is Schultz willing to make a few less bucks for another good shot at winning a Cup, while playing a full-time role? That is assuming that another top team doesn't offer him crazy money.I bet there are teams with cap space that would like to pay Schultz $4M per over multiple years.

Agree. Fehr had a bad (very) year last year, but he is better than that. I liked him on the Caps. Fingers crossed.I wouldn't trade Fehr to be able to re-sign Cullen, personally.

Fehr, by all accounts, is also a great locker room guy. I love that our WBS guys have stepped up and all, but there's something to be said about the presence of useful veterans, as well.

If a team offered him $4M and he signed a 1 year $1.4M deal to "stay here" then he is an idiot. I doubt that he got any offers over $1.5M from anyone, else he would be in that jersey now.We now know the answer.I'm sure there are. He probably didn't get any $4m offers, but I'd be shocked if he only received one.
