When Referring to the Pens - "We" or "They"?

@tifosi77 and I briefly discussed this during the playoffs, and since there's so much free time right now, I figured it's worth bringing up again. Like the title says, do you use "we" or "they" when referring to the Pens? Do you even care?

I don't care what people do. I am guilty of using "we" all the time though to be honest.

I use "we" because it's easier and eliminates confusion.

Once I earn the right to wear the sweater, I'll use we. Until then, I am an outside observer. I am not a part of their reindeer games.

When chatting on here, I probably say they more, but when I'm talking to non-hockey fans, I say we. Not sure why.

I use "we" for several reasons, including, but not limited to, the following examples:
1. It's easy.
2. As a fan, I'm part of a primary stakeholder group of the organ-I-zation.
3. I'm emotionally invested beyond that which is healthy or reasonable (e.g., I'm unsure I'm over the Barnaby-Barnes trade; I couldn't stand Matthew Barnaby).
4. Having attempted many times in my life to plea bargain with any deity who will listen to broker Pens' successes, I'm spiritually invested and probably indebted, so I've earned it?

5. I'm to a much lesser degree financially invested, but I can present receipts.
6. As someone who lives in enemy territory, I feel like when the Pens win, THEN I WIN, BABY.

7. Never underestimate #6, even though it makes no sense.
8. We say, "Let us go, Pens." US. WE. US.

I use "they" if it is referring to the players, such as "they have the number one penalty kill in the NHL."

I use "we" if it refers to the city of Pittsburgh or the team in general. "We've won 4 Stanley Cups."

Also, you will be a fan long after any current player in the organization had retired. Sports teams are an elemental part of a community. If someone is on the "they" side, that's peachy, but complaining about "we" makes you seem like the business end of a horse.
