Pittsburgh Penguins forward Daniel Sprong underwent successful right shoulder surgery, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Sprong will be sidelined 7-to-8 months.

Usually these shoulder surgeries constitute a "lost" year in some regards...so I'm sure some who let their prescriptions lapse will want him traded at the next draft...but hang on, he has a lot of upside to him, let's hope he gets right back on track...
