My brother is a HS history teacher. History is his passion and he is an amazing teacher. Exception to the rule obviously.

He does, in fact, spend 1 class during the WWII section on "forgotten battles", and the Winter War between Finland and Russia is included.

Sean Maguire is likely to be his back up, he's probably better served playing in Wheeling however. They'll more than likely sign a minor league back up if Maguire plays in Wheeling, Zatkoff probably finds a back up job in the NHL.I don't to start a new thread on this (heh) but I was looking at contracts and Zatkoff's is up.
Are the Pens interested in extending him for use at WBS and as the reserve goalie, or will they release him and this will become the Jarry show?

Maguire Is already a little bit of a success story. He was completely out of hockey for a bit with a chronic back injury. From what I've heard, it's a small miracle he is playing at all.
He's a good skater, but he chases the play at times.

Mr. Game One will cash in on his playoff heroics to sign as a backup somewhere else.

Unlike most NHL forwards, I wouldn't put anything past old Garth.

The meltdown on social media and (you guessed it) HF Pens about Fleury still being on the roster today is beyond what I expected. I expected it to be DEFCON 1.
Sometimes I can't stand our fellow fans and want to slap them.

You probably want to avoid /r/penguins right now, too. I've been getting lots of downvotes because of my "Fleury should stay and help Murray grow" stance.

The Pens actually now have the option of moving Murray instead of Fleury, and he would bring back more, IMO.

Indeed, and intentionally so.You know the teaching of history is piss poor in the US, right?
When children aren't taught and have no conception of great people or events of the past you can fool them into believing a media created no experience, no ability but charming charismatic politician is an excellent orator and great leader.

I don't think moving Murray is a solution...
That said, I also would have very little interest in moving Fleury today...

Are people entirely certain that Murray would be in one of the goalies selected in the draft? That's a question, not a comment. I'd actually like to see a list of expected exposed goalies....

Yeah, he is considered one of the 3 best U23 goalies in the world right now. If he were exposed, he goes 1st overall. His peers aren't gonna be...
Anaheim had an issue...moved Freddy Andersen to keep John Gibson...now no issue.
Arizona has no issue...
Boston has no issue. Malcolm Subban is a 'C' prospect...
Buffalo has no issue.
Calgary has no issue.
Carolina has no issue.
Chicago has no real issue. Scott Darling is certainly a candidate for claim.
Colorado might have an issue with Varlamov/Pickard. Pickard is a step below Murray certainly though.
Columbus has no issue.
Dallas has no issue.
Detroit has no issue.
Edmonton has issues, but they aren't related to losing one of their goaltenders...
Florida has no issue.
Los Angeles has no issue.
Minnesota has no issue.
Montreal has no issue.
Nashville has no issue.
New Jersey has no issue.
NYI has no issue.
NYR has no issue.
Ottawa has no goalies...
Philadelphia has no issue.
San Jose has no issue.
St. Louis might be in the Colorado boat, where they might have a player in Jordan Binnington...his value could really rise or fall this year, like Pickard...
Tampa likely has no issue. Bishop will be a UFA and likely moved this season. Yzerman said so last night. If Kristers Gudlevskis comes around, then maybe you have a player there. Put them in the Binnington/Pickard pile of "maybe"...
Toronto has no issue. Jonathan Bernier is a UFA.
Vancouver has no issue.
Washington goes in with St. Louis/Colorado/Tampa where they might have a guy in Philipp Grubauer...again, this season could determine it...
Winnipeg has no issue, protect Hellebuyck.
At this moment, Murray is by far the best young goalie available and it's by an entire tier over everyone else. Now, Murray could get found out this year and have a GAA near 3.00 or whatever and scare some teams away. While Calvin Pickard could become a real player or whatever...this is possible. As it stands right now, speaking just to young goalies and if you're a new team, and you're picking three, you're not gonna pick up Niemi, Pavelec and Howard and spent $28.7 trillion on veteran netminders like that...you'll get one vet, and then try to get two good assets probably. Murray is a lay-up choice for first overall right now as I see it...

I'd like to see him tally up a 1/2 a regular season - which is a pretty low bar - before handing Fleury a gold watch for anchoring the team for a decade and being its emotional center.
