GMJR would like to re-sign Schultz

Source of the post is there a market for Pouliot (and Bennett?) for Valeri Nichushkin
Oh my, I would love for this team to get Nichushkin. I would think they feel like he's going to be a super star for them, no?

Maybe to get Dallas to bite, you have Fleury/Pouliot for Nichuskin/Niemi (with some retained) and a pick. They upgrade at goal, we get a serviceable back up for Murray who can probably play decent for stretches.

There's some grumbling about Nuke having not taken the steps they felt he should, and he's been banged up...and they got the new Russian over in Guryanov, he just signed when he asked out of his KHL deal...this might be the time to strike if you're a Nuke fan like I am...

Being lazy and stupid definitely seems to be Pouliot's biggest issues. One thing that I thought Schultz did really well defensively was just getting in the way. He's only listed as 2 inches taller than Pouliot but was significantly more obstructive than Pouliot ever has been.

Pouliot's pugnaciousness comes in waves...when he's dialed in, he's pretty good...when he's not, he's pretty bad. Jultz is the same way...

It's hard to believe that Bennett or Pouliot would be high on any GM's list; however, some - including Shero? - believed that Tangradi was a real prospect, so you never know.

From Yohe in DK's Friday Insider...
The Penguins are a little surprised that Justin Schultz hasn’t been signed and cautiously optimistic they’ll still have a chance to snag him back in Pittsburgh. They like the player and the person. It appears the rest of the NHL is concentrating on Schultz’s Oilers’ days more than his Penguins’ days.

I'd take him as a 6th/7th for cheap in a heartbeat

Seems like a good guy to platoon with pouliot...as the 6th/healthy scratch...and then carry an 8th that can play defense.
