Im actually angry over it
Love sid, and i understand the number one center with the toughesr minutes angle but no player has been more valauble than kessel.
Just feels like the writers/media didnt want to admit they were wrong

No doubt he deserved it, but there's always been a bit of a political influence over an award like that, so I'm not surprised Sid got it. Sid was very good this series. He's always been a playmaker and he showcased that to full degree.

You could make a credible argument for 2 or 3 players winning the Conn Smythe. Sidney Crosby was one of them. Stahp.

We just won the Cup and you're whining about this?

Godric is the champion of the mods' "moar threads" idealogy, but I agree with him to a point. We just won the Cup and you're whining about this?
Seems legit.
I mean, I'm happy for Sid. He really deserved another trophy. But at the cost of Kessel? eh...
I'm not salty about it, it's just weird

Only you would find something to be angry about. Come on.

Pretty wide open field really. Kessel was my choice, but Crosby is a fair pick. You look at the overall value from maybe the real Conn Smythe winner, Mike Sullivan, note the subtle change late from HBK to HBF, as Eric Fehr was tapped ahead of Kessel to close out the most important game of the year. Meanwhile, Sid is out twice in the last minute, including the last meaningful shot block to set up the icer...

Minus a massive brain fart in game 3, Sid was the dominant force in all three zones for the Penguins all series long. Most writers had him as their winner going into game five. He was far and away the best Penguin on the ice last night. I doubt anyone other than Sid was given much consideration.

The difference in points was 3. One thing that's interesting to me is that of Phil's 10 goals none of them were game winners. Of Crosby's 6, half of them were. When you couple that in with the things that don't show up on the stats sheet, I think it went to a non-rage inducing person. My vote would have been Phil as well, but I'm not upset that Crosby won it. Dude went back to being the most dominate player in the game for long stretches throughout the playoffs.

It could have easily gone to Kessel, but Crosby made a damn good case for himself throughout the playoffs. It's insane to me seeing this many threads online questioning whether Kessel was robbed or not.

It's understandable to question it. Most points = most impact for most.

I get that, but Crosby's play on the ice was other-worldly. He may not have racked up the most points, but I hate the "it should always go to the guy with the most points" thing.
Still, I don't think either of them give a flying F. The only trophy that matters is the Stanley Cup.

He is one hell of a coach.

I think Kessel has been great and probably contributed more than I maybe thought he would, but Sid has been great.
However, as others have said, its all about the Cup and they both have that.

It's so annoying to me that if we get any new visitors, that this is one of the threads that they're going to see minutes after a Stanley Cup win.
This is why they say Pens fans are spoiled brats.

This is worth repeating: @Algernon picked the Blues to win the Cup.

The Wild lost to Dallas, who lost to St. Louis, who lost to San Jose, who lost to the Pens.
So, yeah, I guess he did.
