Yeah, this team is great! Can't believe how well they play the game. 2009 we held on and persevered, but this time there is no doubt which team is the best. And fun to watch! Holy **** are they fun to watch!

Man what a complete job by this entire team. I feel like tge Con Smyth doesnt do it justice this time around

Should have been Phil.
Meh, I'm fine with Sid getting it. He had a great series against he Sharks. I would have been fine with Kessel getting it as well. What a team!

**** off WXPI
What? National feed hasn't broken yet.
They split screened in to tell us the city is celebrating. No ****.
Ah. That sucks.

I would've watched the CBC coverage but @mikey boned us by being somewhere else tonight.
Sorry sir. I posted a lot during game 5 and I really feel like the whole thing was getting ahead of itself, like we had already won...I had to channel my inner-2009 and just rock back and forth nervously in front of my TV until it was over, well, really until the Hornqvist empty netter...at which point I believe I performed an exact replica of Yzerman's celebration when he scored the double OT winner in the '96 WCSF vs. St. Louis...nearly punched out two lights on my ceiling in the process...would not have cared...

My celebration to the Hornqvist goal was absolutely emasculating. Luckily everybody else was celebrating too, but that Horny goal appearing out of nowhere was an all timer.

Down a goal and needing to win to stay alive the Sharks mustered 2 shots on goal in the 3rd period. 2 shots. Against this defense. What an effort by the Pens.

He was a brat. Did not know he was such a petulant turd muffin.

Also, I may or may not be pulling an @NAN with this post.

Wow, didn't even notice that

Even with Jones pulled, Pens still seemed to be in control. Just a dominant performance

The chances of SC win are 1/30. With 4 Stanley Cups won since I was born, it feels funny to realize that even if I don't see another Pittsburgh Cup until I die, I will still have rooted for well-above average successful franchise. 8-)

Celebrated my friend's wedding (after-party) at Kennywood today. We stopped at the Eat N Park in the Waterfront to eat during the 3rd period.

Never thought I'd watch a Cup win at an Eat N Park. What a night. What a weekend.

Never thought I'd watch a Cup win at an Eat N Park. What a night. What a weekend.

I never thought I'd miss the first half of the game because I couldn't get a good enough signal to have the app work on the phone. Never thought I'd be sitting outside our set waiting for the tournament champion as I watched the final 28 minutes. Never thought I'd have to STOP WATCHING with 2:00 left because I had to interview the champion. Never thought I'd be in the middle of our TV compound when the horn sounded.

**NEVER THOUGHT 6 MONTHS AGO THAT IT WOULD EVEN FREAKIN MATTER WHERE I WAS ON JUNE 12 CUZ THERE WAS NO WAY THE PENGUINS WOULD WIN ANOTHER STANLEY CUP!!!!!**

What an amazing run. The perfect blend of players. The perfect crafting of speed, youth, and experience. The perfect teammate in Fleury to never rock the boat and sacrifice for the greater good. The perfect demeanor of the unflappable Murray to weather storm after storm. The perfect game plan to cover up defensively so not to expose Murray's rookieness. From top to bottom, every piece of this puzzle worked. There were no weak links, which is unbelievable to say. Every single guy had one role that they filled to the utmost of their ability. After they beat Tampa, I knew that was the last obstacle to clear and that it was just a matter of time to get to the coronation. This group will immediately zoom to the top 3 of favorite teams across all sports.

Would be remiss if I didn't mention Martin Jones. This freakin kid. He probably should have gotten the Conn Smythe. He stole Game 5 and he damn near stole Game 6 too. After watching the highlights to get a better feel of the game, I just shook my head at some of the saves he made. The one on Kessel with 7:00 left after I was jumping up and down at the prospect of a wide open Kessel on the post was beyond great. That kid was a pleasure to watch even though he frustrated the living hell out of me throughout this series.

As for this group here...what a ton of fun it's been to banter about all of these games and this run. Yeah, we had our snips at each other and dodinting back and forth but that's what passionate fans do. Like the team we watched, everyone filled their role well throughout this run. We earned these bragging rights, kids. Let's not be afraid to let our friends who cheer for some of those other crap teams that we despise know who owns the Holy Grail.

uh oh, NHL network mentioned Despres.
Honestly, when Lovejoy made that one defensive play to clear the puck from a wide open net and a shark player ready to pounce, i thought of the Despres trade. Sure we could have gotten another player in the deal or something else in that deal, but the minute lovejoy cleared that puck out of harms way in a 2-1 game with the cup on the line it totally made the trade worth it.

I was going to make a video like that, but I guess it is no longer needed. Outstanding.
