Yeah, now that, the Polak on Dumoulin thing...that has a pretty fair chance of being a board...
the only explanation I could see is if the ref thought, "well, he was able to get his arm out to protect himself and he wasn't injured so it must've been ok." which imo is complete BS. I've said this before, the NHL is 1 hit away from a player receiving a broken neck (or worse) and then suing the league for several BILLION dollars. it won't be hard to show a pattern of indifference to these type of hits.
I assume that they thought Dumoulin tried to reverse hit him and that's why they didn't call it. But I don't know that that was even the case really...but yeah, either way, I''m pretty sure I would have made that call for a deuce...

Not calling as much stuff in a playoff game isn't a conspiracy...
It's like how the Pens have been collapsing on themselves defensively when leading in the 3rd. They aren't being coached to do that, in fact the opposite is true.

The League is not instructing refs to ignore calls. It's "playoff hockey" mentality that's organic and it just happens.

Do people really think the League wants to see Sidney Crosby getting WWE'd in the back and Dumo getting shoved into the boards face first? I can't even wrap my head around that.

I have been wondering how many BLATANT punches they are going to let Burns throw in this series without calling anything for them. He throws legitimate punches on nearly every shift. It is insane, like Chirpin Grinder or Algernon level insane.

I just like how after he comes out of the corner he has that arm cocked for the elbow for about 2 or 3 strides. It's insane.

I'm relatively sure that the NHL is not interested in enforcing the rules, such that it increases the chances of injuries happening.

Ain't winning **** with Matt Murray
Guess you can just not watch on Sunday then.

Holy hell some Pens fans can be the worst sometimes. The dodinting and lack of faith is insufferable.

I've got faith in them closing it out, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I am considerably more nervous now than I was 24 hours ago. 2014 is still fresh in my memory.

Historically this organization has a propensity for the epic meltdown and I'm fully expecting it to happen again. This series should be over but for Murray and now, IMO, there's as good as chance this slipping away as them winning it thus am wagering in that direction. I hope I'm wrong, I won't mind being out a couple bucks, I will watch Sunday and Wednesday. And if you don't like my take on it
kiss my ass, dagny

seriously?

if you're a Caps fan, or a Sharks fan I could understand this mentality, but the Pens have 3 cups in the last 25 years (and a fourth if we win on Sunday). only 3 teams (Detroit, NJ and Chicago) have as many as we do now and if we end up winning, we'll be tied with Detroit.

let's not kid ourselves. the Pens aren't historically a choke artist team.

6-0
1.67 GAA
0.936 SV%

Errybody, chill.

Are you kidding? They've lost a playoff series nearly every year over that time span.

Last night was nothing like 2014's game 5.

Since winning the Cup in '09, they've only had one decent playoff run. And that ended in a 4-game sweep in the ECF in which they scored a total of two goals.

They've drastically underperformed to expectations during Crosby's career, but the only series I'd say they delivered a out and out choke performance was TB a few years ago.

I know, but I don't want to go down that path of losing 3 straight (which is really all I meant).

but we can't honestly expect the team to go deep every year. That just doesn't happen in hockey. The three teams that won a Cup since 09 either missed the playoffs or were knocked out in the first round.

I don't care who is or is not on the roster, if you can't close out a 3-1 lead that's a choke. Especially with game 7 on your ice.

Look. I bought a jersey and a few tickets over the last couple of years. I'm invested and they owe me a championship.

Bad omen since they're basically playing without Crosby and Malkin now. Checked a score sheet lately?
