With Letang suspended, the responsibility was going to fall on Daley to eat big time minutes. Plays almost 29 minutes, scores a goal, and finishes the night a +3. Including a huge zone-keeping save leading to the game winner. Stepped up like an absolute boss.

Yeah but after that, I can see a team throwing money at him like they did with Orpik (I think Daley will be the same age Orpik was when Orpik signed with the Caps)

What a FAB job he's done. Absolutely incredible trade. Literally have a difficult time believing what a total steal that is/was.

I don't see him even getting to free agency. The Pens are likely to lock him up while still under contract, and rightfully so. Daley was shipped around for a few years, and has finally found a home in the role he/we know he can play. I'm positive that'll count for something when it comes to negotiations.

You must be thinking of somebody else. He played a million years in Dallas before he was traded to Chicago last summer.

I'm not; I was referring to recent history. He has played on three different teams since the start of the 2014-2015 season.

"shipped around for a few years" has a different connotation than what describes what happened with Daley. He didnt get traded from Dallas because he was bad. he had great value and is a good player. James Neal is a similar situation.

For ****'s sake, you're over-analyzing what I said. Daley played on three teams in the span of two years. I never said that he was traded because he had no value; that was never the point, and it still isn't.
