I don't think it's necessarily their fault. The players presumably want lighter jerseys that don't keep moisture. Same thing happened with Nike and the NFL. They switched to the form fitting wicking material that's super thin; but they're not durable. The teams are replacing them every game or two. Which is fine if you're a pro team, but if you're a fan paying $300 for a jersey it sucks. Hockey is a little different, they try and get half a season out of a jersey. Not sure if the Adidas are as durable as the suppliers in years past.

I haven't played ice hockey in years, and I'd bet my life savings on these new Adidas jerseys not being anywhere near as durable as old school CCM's. I get the purpose of the mesh, but it just looks bad to me. Even worse in lighter colors.

Well, the materials used in the "Authentics" aren't the same as the game-worn jerseys, so there's that.

Absolutely the older stuff is higher quality. That's why I'll likely never buy an Adi jersey unless they come out with a "2.0" availability like Reebok eventually did. It's a real shame.

Probably by talking about how goalies are just people that couldn't skate well enough to play a different position.

I always thought kids became goalies because they have rich parents that have the time and money to deal with the extra requirements.

The waist stripe is a solid addition. Wish the Pens went with that. Still looks like a gold vest though.
