Islanders probably didn't lose on purpose, but I think they benefit from changing to the Atlantic division for the playoffs. Capitals and Pens seems to be the best teams in the east and now they can't face Islanders before the ECF...

So if the Pens and Caps both win round 1, it would be the Pens vs Caps in round 2?

From a DK article mentioning Jarry:
Jarry’s April has been miserable. In three games, he’s sporting a 4.95 GAA and a .787 save percentage. For the season in Wilkes-Barre, Jarry is 17-13-2 with a 2.65 GAA and a .905 save percentage.
Yowza. Small sample size, I guess.

Baby Pens have been decimated by Big Pens' callups, but still those aren't good numbers for Jarry.

I don't care if Fleury and Murray are somehow both miracled onto the ice for practice today, playing Murray on Saturday was inexcusable and indefensible. Sullivan better keep all his fingers and toes crossed that this series doesn't start with a Zatkoff-Jarry tag team because all of his second half magic will be for naught.

I was really hoping we'd play the Islanders in round one, not trending that way though.
Same.
heh...this is surprising. the islanders have the ability to bring the circus to town. they're also a team that can lift up any player on our team by their underwear and hang them from a flagpole. the rangers, to an extent, seem like they're just waiting for the season to be over. i think we roll over them. the isles would make it interesting.

I give it until the 10 minute mark of the first game until Luis Mendoza goes barreling into Fleury/Murray.

Either you play everyone important or you sit everyone important.

probably an unpopular opinion but I don't have any problem with Murray starting against the Flyers. He needed experience in high pressure games, unlike Sid and Letang.

It's just extremely unfortunate that he got injured, especially since goalies are much less susceptible to injury than a position player

If Murray needs experience in high pressure games why play him saturday when the outco.e doesn't matter one iota?

It was asinine.

I'm 110% certain that Murray going into the playoffs having played 12 games instead of 13 would make zero difference in his preparedness.

He started against the Islanders on April 2nd, the Flyers on April 3rd, and the best team in the damn league on March 1st and April 7th.

none of those games were a "win and get in" type situation for any of the teams though. this one was

Murray and Fleury will be done for the year, Geno will break his hand shaking somebody's hand, and Letang will have a stroke watching everything unfold before him.
