I'd personally like the Penguins to not play in any more outdoor games. It's not usually good hockey, and it's just worn out at this point.

It got worn out when they started doing more than just one a year. The NHL is just trying to capitalize on the popularity with all these stadium games.

Yeah. That's what I mean, there are so many now. I personally don't care for them anymore. Normally its sloppy bad hockey too. I'm sure it would sell out and bring in tons of $$$, but personally I'd wish they just stop them all together at this point. I know that won't happen though. So if they must have them, I'd rather the Pens not be a part of them.

I like the outdoor games when it snows. Other than that, the hockey is usually meh.

Until the Pens prove they can not make asses out of themselves against the Flyers, I want nothing to do with this.

I will travel through a blizzard to go to a Pens-Flyers game at Beaver Stadium. I've spent so much time there as a PSU football fan that a hockey game there would be pretty amazing.

That being said, I agree that the outdoor stuff is starting to grow old. I like it on New Years Day but I think that's plenty for one year, mainly because the hockey can be very potluck as far as the bounces and skill involved because of the surface and/or the weather.

If this ends up being true, the event would be a complete spectacle.

Dual 50th anniversaries? The teams/league/NBC would be sure to make it the best WC yet - bet on it.

I think an outdoor game there might actually get us back into Beaver Stadium, where we haven't been since the home opener in 2005.

Russo swerve:

NHL agrees to a Winter Classic at Beaver Stadium, but the matchup is Boston vs. Chicago.

The main issue in earlier discussions about a Beaver Stadium game is which team would lose a home game - and that's the sticking point. Is that solved? Or is it TWO games at Beaver Stadium?

Do a home & home a night or two apart? Oooh, NHL would never allow this but a Day-Night doubleheader.

As much as I would say I want no part of this, I'm probably all-in.
