That was one of the most impressive wins of the year.

I think the Flyers go on a tailspin now and miss the playoffs. There is a plan that everyone can see...out skate their molasses like defense

Awesome game by the Pens. Outside of a few gaffes by the Pens D that led to a few odd man breaks, the Flyers weren't able to generate any consistent offense. The Pens had too much speed and puck movement for them to contain.

It is ridiculous they took so long to review that and flip-flopped, but I do enjoy it as another twist of the knife for the Flyers.
"Conspiracy!"

"Bettman made the second call!"

Well done, everyone!

It's just tough to sustain this kind of pace. They have been playing really well...8-1-1 and all that...and that was just to get back to even, ya know?

Look at Ottawa last year, they had to win like 24 games in a row or whatever to compete. It's tough. I think they miss as well and have thought that all year...Mrazek won't let the Wings fail...

They're still just a point back of Detroit with 2 games in hand on them.

The Isles might be the surprise team that's in trouble to be honest...I bet we fast forward to the end of this month and go, "hmph, the Isles are on the cusp..."

I just think they are gonna start losing some games, again because they really aren't that good, and the red wings will get some wins to sneak in

Right, and nor do they have two games at hand I don't believe...

One point ahead of the Islanders for now. I have good vibes about beating the Rangers, if the Pens can sneak into third.

For those of you lucky enough to have the home broadcast, the Flyers crew spent the entire 3rd period talking about how the Flyers were right in the thick of it with the Pens (despite being outplayed at every area of the ice). It was pretty humorous.

Love the Pens winning battles all day.

Flyers had no answers for the speed, heart, tenacity, and, yes, maturity of the Pens today.

Flipping over to the other division to play Florida wouldn't be the worst thing either. Survive them and then we have Malkin coming back.

One game in hand on Detroit. NHL scoreboard on ESPN hadn't updated that yet. The Red Wings just aren't that good of a team.

To hell with that. I want Washington before someone else knocks them out of the postseason.

Solid performance by Kessel, too. GWG setup by him chasing down a player on the forecheck and forcing the turnover? Outstanding effort on that play.

This is where a Saturday afternoon game is nice. You get to start celebrating the Pens dominating the Flyers at 4 PM instead of 10.

A few quotes about Kessel (from Yohe):
Phil Kessel is never completely comfortable when speaking with the media, and is especially uncomfortable when discussing himself. He much prefers speaking about his teammates.

So, a teammate did the talking for him. While I was discussing Saturday’s 4-1 win against the Flyers with Kessel, Patric Hornqvist barged into the conversation.

“I just wanted to say,” Hornqvist chimed in, “I think Phil was our best player.”

---

Hagelin’s description of Kessel speaks volumes of his performance. “He was a machine out there,” Hagelin said. “He won a lot of battles, used his body. He skated pucks down." A machine? Kessel?
More praise & such in the article. Bonino, Sullivan, GMJR also praise his performance today.
