+1. Definitely the other team I'd like to see out of the East. The hell with the rest of them.I would definitely root for FLA in a cup final. Fun team.

I'm aiming low here, but the Pens have actually developed effective 4th liners in the system, though I suspect Cullen has a hand in that process.

Just able to get to my watch the game now. How do the Pens look? Montoya in Vezina contention?
I'm worked up like every game is a must-win.

Did we really trade a traffic cone like Scuderi for a guy that can actually skate in Daley? If this was a video game, the virtual commissioner would have rejected that deal.

We actually had a useful player or two in the past, but they were comically misused and abused. No chance of success. These guys also would have looked like crap if they had to play that same fancy Dan game that Bylsma had them play...I'm aiming low here, but the Pens have actually developed effective 4th liners in the system, though I suspect Cullen has a hand in that process.
That said, we did have some guys that really didn't belong too...
But, yes, these guys have been pretty strong overall...Rust, Wilson is useful, Kuhnhackl has not embarrassed himself at all, Sundqvist will be all right...it's helpful that they can play a game that's more comfortable for them...

Honestly, I haven't really noticed Wilson that much, in this game or any other.

Crosby needs support from his secondary scorers. Paging Kessel.

Happy 44th b-day to Jaromir Jagr. Ex-teammate Rick Tocchet told me about Jagr's 21st. Party was at a massive sports bar in Pittsburgh. 1/2

There were about 1,000 guests, not all of them invited. Tocchet: "950 of them were girls. I was single at the time, so thanks Jags." 2/2
Guilty as charged.

If I had a dollar for every time the Panthers TV crew said Trocheck's name, I could retire.

Seriously, I don't recall many players mingling among the plebes, but then again, I don't remember much. It looked like they were all in a glass-encased VIP room upstairs.
HAGELIN! CRAP! DAMMIT!

Why can't the Panthers be tenacious and entertaining some other night? Why tonight?
We've reached "Gotta Win It for Flower" level.

Hagelin tried to go 5-hole but Montoya got his stick on it. Plenty to shoot through, just hit the stick instead.

Gonna suck to not get a point out of this game because the dumbass ref wasn't in the right position and lost sight of the puck when on TV, it was very easy to see the puck the entire time before Crosby poked it in.

And there's another **** call. I've seen that called a deflection in a few games this season. Letang's trying to knock that puck down to gain possession. NHL officiating at its finest again tonite.

This is about the time Letang scored last Panthers game.
For some reason, a 1-goal deficit tonight feels insurmountable. "Montoya" is Spanish for "force field," I guess.

Amending the statement I made at the beginning of this thread -- I'm glad I didn't make this trip. That would have been 7 hours I wouldn't get back.
