Subban is such a great guy. Because those nice things he does completely erase him being a shitbird for significant portions of his life. That's how it works right?
He has suddenly become the darling of the hockey fan world. People just started watching hockey.

Eh... I wonder if some people were flinging the N word at PK. It wouldn't surprise me.
You can't assume stuff like this
Considering I've heard people at games call him the N word, I can wonder. Assume is more definitive, and I'm not leaning that way.
Those people should've been thrown out of the game along with the catfish tosser.
And if that's what Malkin called him in Russian?
That's what really has my curiosity. I'm sure guys get called all sorts of crap on the ice, if it's true that what Malkin said to him set him off then it's probably something especially pointed.
Or its just an excuse Subban is using for getting emotional?

Malkin definitely isn't racist. Check his IG or any of his social media, its pretty apparent

Subban never said that Malkin said that. Relax.

Subban does some amazing things off the ice. He became the darling of the hockey community after the Habs unceremoniously decided they didn't want him around anymore. Following that all of his work with the Montreal Children's Hospital came into the mainstream light. He truly does great work off the ice. On the ice he's an dadhole.

Also, I think it's sh***y of people to assume people dislike PK Subban out of racism, and not because he's a giant **** head on the ice.
That's not what was said.

It was more a general statement, as I've seen it a lot outside of the board.

Big time co-sign on @Algernon's Malkin defense on this board in all aspects of his performance on and off the ice

And to think, people were assuming that he was going to be benched in favor of Hagelin not even a week ago.

I would prefer not to see Saros honestly. He reeks of rookie goalie that Pens will need to figure out fast, and they haven't exactly been able to live in Nashville's end to do that enough.

Nashville fans are very high on him.
With the exception of the first minute of the game when Wilson scored on him, I remember Saros was pretty damn good when the Pens played them in October (without Crosby & Letang). Fleury was pretty blah in that game (replaced by Condon) but I can remember a lot of great chances the Pens had and Saros got em. I asked a friend who lives in Nashville who the heck this guy was and she was like, "I have no clue...never heard of the guy either".

But that was a long time ago and he looked pretty ordinary on the Hornqvist goal that got called back. I think in a situation like this, if you're the opposition, you always want to see a backup goalie who doesn't have much experience. Considering how little Saros has played in these playoffs, it could be best that he's wearing dark pants if he would enter on Saturday night.

However, I can't see any scenario where Rinne doesn't start. He's gotten you this far. You can't just put him on the scrap heap in favor of a guy who has little experience (final part of sentence placed to avoid comparisons to what Pens did this year).

I agree with @Morkle. Happened in the TB series last year when they put in that KGB secret agent and we had issues

Some people dislike PK Subban because he is a doùche. Other people dislike him because he's black. If you don't think this is a real thing, go to 4chan's /sp/ board

He has suddenly become the darling of the hockey fan world. People have short memories.
I had begun to soften my thoughts on him during this playoff season but still had that negativity in my head going into this series. Nice to see it only took 4 periods for the total hate of that clown come all the way back. Loved how he tried to talk smack to Sid after hitting him and Sid just ignores him.

So within the /r/hockey confines, he apparently had a string of good games this year, and they didn't protect him against the competition. I don't like the offsides call because the guy came in absolutely cold and the Pens were amidst a high momentum pace. I don't really think there's anything he could have done there.

That's a lot different than being told you're the starter and prepping for the game from the start.

He chose to avoid the question twice last night during his conference.

Where did I say that it wasn't a real thing?

I'm saying it's stupid to generalize an entire fanbase's hatred for a player as racism.

4chan's sports board. It's fun but there is a ton of nonapologetic routine racism
