“Daddy, the Flyers are being good sports and shaking hands but their fans are RUDE!!!!” -Lil Miss Franchise
Excellent. When the fans were throwing trash at the Penguins, I let my 4yo know. She was roundly disgusted.

Brassard has played well. Defensively responsible, led the team in shots in game five, has set Sheary up for at least a half dozen easy goals in the past two games but unfortunately it’s Sheary. The production will come.

The guy went from playing 18 minutes a night with his team’s best wingers, plus top PP duty, to playing 15 minutes a minute with our first set of leftover wingers and mop up PP duty. Despite the diminished role the chances have been there, that line just needs to capitalize on them.
He’s doing these shitstirring things though...we were coasting towards our win today and he was blatantly holding onto some dude’s stick for at least 5 seconds in a non scoring area. And I ask why. He almost doesn’t realize he’s on the team that actually wins.
That honestly might be it. Too many seasons in Le Chiffre‘s bullshit system where you spend your entire life just trying to hang onto 2-1 victories.

JAKE GUENTZEL SCORED MORE GOALS TODAY THAN THE KINGS DID IN THE ENTIRE 2018 PLAYOFFS!

Malkin in background at one minute mark walking with no wrap/brace/stabilizer nor apparent limp would seem to be a good sign

On another note, I just watched the replay of that Giroux hit...that was not a "clean hit" by any stretch, IMO.

Dear Fearless Leader Kim Jong-Un,

You may now nuke Philly.

Best,

Pittsburgh

Also, I believe that Guentzel's "natural quad" is only the second in playoff history...the first was Tim Kerr (PHI) in 1985.

when the Pens beat the Cryers in 2008 somebody, maybe Reebok made Pennsylvania State Champs t-shirts that were sold on NHL.com. I REALLY hope they do it again! it's one of my most cherished shirts.... :slug:

Seemed fine. Not too late. Didn’t target the head. Meh.

Any philly based posters attend this game? If so, I have some questions. In your estimate, what percentage of beer cans that were thrown toward the ice actually made it? Would you say there were more or less beer can tossers than on average?

What’s Murray now? 10-1 after a loss?

Yea. His numbers probably took a bad hit, but wins is wins.

After seeing a couple replays, I can’t decide if he leaves his feet before or after contact, which tells me it’s probably too close to tell so who gives a f.

I think he explodes up but I don't think he leaves his feet. Hags didn't seem concussed to me, just unhappy to be bleeding from the mouth....

@JoshYohe_PGH

Asked Sid about having all the beer cans thrown at him: "Those things were full. What a waste. Guess they have to be full to throw them that far."

Well said, Sid.

I can admit that what Couturier played through was impressive, but the nickname Coots is completely **** douchey.

He makes an effort to move into Hags way well after the puck is gone. That's an easy 2 minute interference.

That was my position, as well. In real-time, I couldn't see a penalty for anything else being called in that situation.

Don't we miss Flower...?
Yes, because the Pens don't have a competent back up in place.
