Geno didn't practice today, but regardless of that it's easy to see where he would go and how HCMS is still being a dolt.
Maintenance day for Geno.

So the fanbase’s response to “this team is fragile” is to insert more rookies? Hatchi matchi
This team needs a father-like figure.
Like a Darth Vader kinda figure or a Henry Jones type?

Graves highlights the absence of puck luck and oh boy that's right on. Starting with the three posts in that damned first Islander game through to Phil missing the 5 on 3 shot last night; their puck luck has been abysmal. I'd like to say I've never seen it this bad but I'm old now and can't remember.

Seemed like they were getting good puck luck when they were up 4-1...

Guentzel-Crosby-Hörnqvist
Pearson-Malkin-Sprong
Simon-Brassard-Kessel

Can Sprong do similar stuff as Neal did? I would want Malkin to carry the puck and Sprong's only responsibility offensively would be to position himself for an opportunity to shoot the puck...

IMO, no, not at all. One thing I've noticed about Sprong is that he just never seems to be in a good position for a shot. Never.

It isn't that he isn't in a good position, he gets to a good spot and stands there. He needs to keep his feet moving and follow the puck, not wait for it.

Also I've read Pearson is pretty good about getting into the slot and ripping one timers/quick shots. imo, Pearson should be the trigger, and the RW needs to be a hound dog to get in after loose pucks and get them to Geno.

Sprong is streak and score...Pearson is slot presence.

Sprong would benefit from a good two-line carrier, NZ playmaker center...a la prime Scott Gomez.

Good thing we have prime Derek Grant to slot in as his C.

Even when he's taking shots in stride, he's more often than not outside the dots, or at least pushed outside of the slot. Not exactly a prime scoring area.

He doesn't look comfortable carrying the puck, which I think is something he was able to do in the lower leagues. I think it was meow that said he looks like he's trying to chop the puck in half when he handles it. Like mikey said I think Sprong will need someone to carry the mail for him, and let Sprong be the trigger on the line. I don't think he'll ever have the foot speed to skate and shoot like Phil does.

Sprong is definitely to blame for the last game.
