I know exactly what Murray was thinking. He was thinking his defenseman wouldn’t let this dude take it from the top of one circle ACROSS the slot to the bottom of the other circle in less than half a second so he could square up to take a shot. MP has one job. Don’t let Nelson cross the middle of the ice line. He couldn’t do that and got absolutely toasted.I think Petterson did what he could. Nelson made a good move to cut but Petterson was forcing him back outside on his backhand. It also looked like Petterson was caught between playing Nelson and the center drive early until the backchecker caught up. But in terms of limiting Nelson's options once he made the move I thought it was fine.
I have literally 0 clue what Murray was thinking. If he doesn't play that like a potato we aren't having this discussion right now. Which is why I said it's 100% on him.
I’m now saying Murray is off the hook, but you can’t completely blame the goalie when he obviously trusted a D man to do his one job. If Murray didn’t have the athletic ability of my two year old girl, he might have had a better chance and bailing out his burnt D man.

Murray Every goalie has the unique ability to, with a single play, make you forget a strong overall performance.

Fleury was often the other way aroundYou'd think we'd be used to that kind of goalie by now in Pittsburgh.

I thought Murray just got caught in a bad change.
