Staal got a match penalty for "punching" Prust with a gloved fist in 2011. Could have been a major but these refs are chicken shits.

Does the severity of the punch matter if it's more than a two though? I kind of agree with Mikey, but obviously it was harder and more direct than other punches.

If someone punches you in the back of the head, then I would definitely kick them out. Makes me think of Todd Burtuzzi against Moore

Meh, so did Bertuzzi...taking wild exceptions to things doesn't really solve it...it was two minutes, maybe two minutes well-earned, but there's not a lot of precedence for giving anything more than a two there...
