I liked Fitzgerald a lot. That's a big blow to the organization, IMO.

Him and Rutherford were seen on the draft floor having a heated conversation. I think the approach made of having so may associate GM's was kind of an insult to all of them, pick one guy and put your faith in him.

But as far as losing Fitzgerald, I liked him but what does he have to show for his legacy here? Granted if his main job as player development he had nothing to work with because we have one guy left who we could point to as being under his watch and that's Bennett and maybe Dumoulin. Everyone else either went direct to the NHL, picks were traded or the guys were traded themselves.

Not really sure what to feel because it's kind of hard for me to quantify exact things he was responsible for, good or bad.

Same here, to be honest. Bit I liked his intensity, and I think having him behind the bench during the 2009 cup run made a difference.

I think our of Boterill, Guerin and Fitzgetald, Fitzgetald was probably the best overall package for a GM. He'd be the one I figured would replace Rutherford in a year or two.
