To a level I agree. Sometimes people complain about guys being over 30 or lack of guys in WBS, and such... and I think that the Pens are consistently near the top of the NHL, won 2 of the last 3 Cups... and thankfully do not blow smoke up fans asses like the Pirates do.Screw the farm. Get Cups
Whether the Pens have Picks in the hopper or not, it is going to suck for a few years after Crosby and Malkin leave. Go for it now. Worry about 2025 in 2024.

You didn't really set a level, IMO. And I agree with meow - screw the farm if it means Cups. I lived through the Rico Fata and Dick Tarnstrom era, so I can handle another down period. To a level I agree. A good farm can still be cultivated with good/creative scouting...

I'm kind of expecting a few years out of the playoffs as Sid/Geno wind down to the end of the their careers and shortly after they retire. Like mikey pointed out, scouting is always important but is going to become even more so as we enter the post-87/71 era.And I agree with meow - screw the farm if it means Cups. But won't we just draft another generational talent? Isn't that how it works?I'm kind of expecting a few years out of the playoffs as Sid/Geno wind down to the end of the their careers and shortly after they retire. The largest newspaper in Sweden, Aftonbladet, had an article regarding Enström today.Enstrom probably wants to be done in the NHL at this point. His wife is going through cancer treatments back in Sweden, and I think he'd rather go home then take a one-year, small salary deal in a non-Winnipeg location at this point...I could be wrong, and probably a lot is hinging on his wife's condition...but I'd welcome Toby here with open arms (he's exactly the same player as Maatta more or less) but I don't think that's an avenue for us...
Seids is done, Oduya has been done, Bieksa is Bortuzzo at this point, Stoner was never really a good NHLer...

It is only an interview with the roughly equivalent to a GM but anyway:
He has been training with the 2nd league club MODO for a while and they hope to sign him. He has offers/discussions with clubs in the NHL

Hey FLPF, what up...

It's August in hockeyland, so, not a whole heck of a lot!
Figured I'd swing by here since I haven't been in quite some time, and maybe try and be a little more active over here this season. Trying to be a little more active everywhere actually, as I finally got my hockey blog up and running to spare people from flooding their message boards with my often way too long posts. A little easier just to throw it on the blog and those who want to read it can.

How many days left until the season? And don’t just tell me a number. Inform me via an obscure former Penguin
