Just saw something go by on Twitter from The Hockey New saying Viktor Tikhonov is expected to narrow his list of potential teams down to five by tomorrow night. Says Tikhonov wanted to see how the draft played out before making his final list.
I want to bring in Tikhonov, Plotkinov, & Frolik, and let them battle with Kunitz & Dupuis for the 2 spots alongside Malkin.

That's a bit of a pipe dream though.

I want nothing to do with Kunitz or Dupuis as a full time top 6 winger.

And yeah, I understand, FPF; however, I think they're good insurance (alongside a St. Louis) to put up on the top 6 for a short spurt. Both showed flashes last year of what they used to be capable of (Dupuis moreso before his absurd medical problem).

Oh, I 100% agree that as 3rd liners they would be good, and would be capable of stepping into the top 6 if injuries occur. But counting on them to be everyday top 6 guys just doesn't make sense to me. Time to move on and make upgrades there.

Yeah, I'm guessing we move on from Hartzell and McNeil...not sure what the forward count is...but they may want to make room for Dominik Simon if they don't have it already...but I'm guessing we do have that room...
Hartzel, Payerl, and D'Agostino were the 3 that did not get tendered.

Hmm, it's too bad that D'Agostino didn't work out...I thought he might be develop into a third pairing d-man when I saw him five or six years ago...

In his defense we brought in Maatta, Pouliot, Harrington and Dumoulin along with Morrow too in the time to bump him out of sniffing the NHL in Pittsburgh.

OMG!!! If what I just saw is true, we should be able to trade Chris Kunitz for 2 first round picks:

Bruins announce they've acquired Zac Rinaldo from the Flyers for a 2017 3rd-round pick.

WTF is Don Sweeney doing in Boston????

Neil Smith was on the job for 41 days before leaving the Islanders...will Don Sweeney beat that...? At this rate, I can't imagine...

Also, it sounds like Richards really screwed up and did something bad. Friedman tweeted that it does not appear to be the conditioning issue and wouldn't say more. Buccigross just tweeted he had just heard the first part of the info on Richards, said yowzers and stay tuned.

What I saw was that LA got information last Friday about something on Richards. That set the buyout/termination stuff in motion.

Hextall is pretty much killing it, so my dislike at the Flyers massively improving by shedding sht players and awful contracts is currently outweighing by Bruins schadenfreude.

While they're making dumb moves, can we get Loui Eriksson?

Does not compute.

Downie has good skill, and he is a good soldier who you can always count on to stick up for his teammates, but his inability to control himself became problematic. I won't miss him.
Was it a problem in the playoffs? A lot of Downie's problems stem from the name on the back of his sweater and not his actions.
That's true, but unfortunately, if the sweater he wears is a Penguins sweater, his problems become the Penguins' problems. The team loses out because of the refs bias against Downie. This is another reason not to keep him, IMO.

Cam Neely has his back, so I see the Boston fiasco lasting a fairly long time.

Loui is a UFA at seasons end. I would be happy with him for 1 year. Letang for 7 more seasons. No thanks.

Mike Richards had an "incident" at a border crossing, prompting his release.

Tiops is saying the Pens had an offer from a western conference team for Kunitz.
