How he is considered to be credible is beyond me.
But regardless, Rossi is just full of it.

I don't see how Kessel will fit with Crosby or Malkin. Need guys who can create space and get in the faces of other teams so they can do everything on their own.
I'd rather roll the dice on Parenteau or Hodgson or even both if the price is good to avoid paying that much for a potential huge bust with Kessel.

neal scored 40 with malkin simply by staring in the mirror at himself. kessel would do fine.
...and i don't think he owns a mirror

Kessel would be pretty much guaranteed to be lethal with either Crosby or Malkin. Regardless of the cost, we'd definitely get a fantastic player.

I would have liked Downie back, but not looking likely now.

Yep. Would have liked to have had him back on the 4th line.

Downie has good skill, and he is a good soldier who you can always count on to stick up for his teammates, but his inability to control himself became problematic. I won't miss him.

Isn't he looking for a sizable raise over his pay last year?

Was it a problem in the playoffs? A lot of Downie's problems stem from the name on the back of his sweater and not his actions.Downie has good skill, and he is a good soldier who you can always count on to stick up for his teammates, but his inability to control himself became problematic. I still think if you can limit his minutes on a 4th line that he wouldn't have as many issues. We know he has the ability to score and put up 3rd line type numbers. If you need him as a deterrent, then throw him on a line for a shift or two to make a point. I still see value by having him, but I also see why the Penguins would want to pass.Downie has good skill, and he is a good soldier who you can always count on to stick up for his teammates, but his inability to control himself became problematic. Different topic, but interesting...Molinari just tweeted that word is Penguins will not be tendering a few of their WBS RFAs. No word yet on who that might be. Payerl, Farnham, Uher, Hartzell, D'Agostino, and McNeil are the only RFAs (aside from Dumoulin) that I see as WBS.
If I had to make an assumption, I would guess Hartzell and maybe Payerl wouldn't be tendered.

I don't know if McNeil will be either.

Yeah, I'm guessing we move on from Hartzell and McNeil...not sure what the forward count is...but they may want to make room for Dominik Simon if they don't have it already...but I'm guessing we do have that room...

Farnham is a wildcard because the Pens obviously love that spunk, but he brings next to no, you know, hockey ability.

I see that Dominik Simon was drafted 4th overall in this year's KHL draft. Maybe we really found something.

Made a fool out of Kings GM Lombardi Lombardi burned by Richards
Off Season Moves Thread
Just saw something go by on Twitter from The Hockey New saying Viktor Tikhonov is expected to narrow his list of potential teams down to five by tomorrow night. Says Tikhonov wanted to see how the draft played out before making his final list.

Lol. If they can prove a breach of contract can they get out of the cap hit?

I'm going assume they are going to argue that Richards' did not make an adequate effort to keep himself in professional athlete shape.
