Only New Jersey, Arizona, Vancouver, and Colorado weren't within 20 points of a playoff spot this season.

Begs the question. More points next year, Arizona or Vegas? Average game attendance, Arizona or Vegas?

Agree to disagree then. Pens have 5 RFAs. They sign a lot of RFAs after the season. Doesn't seem necessarily true that they are at a standstill.

I'd be willing to bet vegas gets close to selling out a lot.

He could keep that speed for 10 years. Hell, he could lose a step and still be one of the fastest guys in the league.I'd be really happy if Hagelin got picked. I like him, no issue there. But his game seems to be speed based and he's 28. What's left when the speed goes? Hair?

Hagelin has what, 2 years left? Not overly concerned about him losing his speed during that time. If he was signed really long term for... some reason, maybe.

You might not be wrong. But I don't subscribe to this.Source of the post I strongly feel that if the Pens wanted to pay Schultz what "he" is asking for then he would already be signed.
A) RFAs are last on the to-do list for an offseason
B) Vegas can only take 10 non-contracted players. Schultz being an RFA would eat up one of those spots, which is very slight dissuadement (?)
C) Some teams don't negotiate these kind of "major" deals during the season to avoid the distraction...
So I don't read too much into it...

When do we find out who they're exposing?
I think they should do the 8 total skaters and a goalie, as opposed to the 7-3-1.
Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Hornqvist, Letang, Schultz, Maata, Dumolin & Murray.
Here's how I would rank LV's Penguin's choice - Schultz, Dumolin, Fleury, Cole, Rust Schultz. I think ideally you want LV to select Fleury, if you're having to dangle Schultz or Dumo, LV is going to jump on one of them. But if they're picking between Fleury, Cole and Rust, they might go for the former #1 overall pick and starting goalie.

Pens had 16 wins in the playoffs... Colorado had 22 wins all season. That's insane to me.Only New Jersey, Arizona, Vancouver, and Colorado weren't within 20 points of a playoff spot this season.

Just skimmed a bleacher report article on what players look to be available from other teams. Seems like there are a couple of teams that are in worse situations than the Penguins. Minnesota, Nashville, ANA, NYR and NYI all look like they will have to expose a strong asset.

The Pens are not in a bad situation at all. Especially considering that they don't have to protect Guentzel and Sheary, two NHL level players for free. The ED is set up so that Vegas can pick a "decent" player from every team, so the standard for each team is to expect to lose a decent player. The standard is NOT for a team to lose someone that they don't care about.Just skimmed a bleacher report article on what players look to be available from other teams. I still expect a couple of deals to be made so that some of those decent players don't get picked (Spurgeon/Scandella from Minny cone to mind).

I think even better deals will be made for Vegas to take on a few bad contracts.I still expect a couple of deals to be made so that some of those decent players don't get picked (Spurgeon/Scandella from Minny cone to mind).

After reading the article on Fleury this afternoon, it seems like Fleury to Vegas is a done deal.

Didn't either Foley or McPhee say as much a few months ago?
