Slovakia’s Pavol wearing #87

Guy on the Slovakia national team wearing #87… is Crosbys number off limits yet? Feels like it already is in the NHL. Nobody on the international rosters with 66 or 99 obviously…

Do those “rules” not apply internationally? Will the Canadian team be chirping when they meet up?

Retiring numbers league wide is dumb. Retiring them internationally is even dumber.

It's not forbidden or even discouraged, but it will invite stricter scrutiny.

Should that lineman in the NFL named Lemieux be forbidden to use 66 as his jersey number?

I would think anyone choosing 87 or 66 or 99 as a number would be doing it as a fan and a tribute.

League wide retirement is not great. Also, Crosby isn't on that level...

Dave Parker was not the best player of his generation.

Crosby was only the best player until 2012, when a national audience watched him bass the baton to Giroux.

Good stuff. Man that's a classic MAF game if there ever was one. Huge save, boneheaded giveaway.

I don't know what he did to himself but considering he's had multiple surgeries to try and fix the issue, what the hell is the medical team doing lol

Was Dubas referring to a fractured finger when he said Letang was dealing with a "significant" injury and was getting a second opinion?

entirely possible. I fractured (well, the doctor said "shattered") my right index finger in Feb of 2022 blocking a shot in beer league. I had to get a second opinion because 3 months afterwards, I still couldn't bend the finger at all and had minimal feeling in it. the 2nd opinion didn't think I needed surgery but did recommend Occupational Therapy after the first doctor suggested nothing. more than 2 years later I've got about 85% mobility back but there's still numbness in the top half of the finger and I can't fully grip things like a hockey stick or golf club and likely never will. not a big deal for me but could be for a professional athlete.

Nietos surgery had to be a repair of a repair. I’m assuming ACL and MCL originally and somehow MCL again from either a new injury. But at the same time, I’ve never heard of a timeline that long for an MCL. Seems like an LTIR candidate for a huge chunk of the season
