I think I'll do the same now too.

I thought he did pretty well this year for what little they had in the way of any meaningful prospects

Well, they brought in a bunch of tweeners with NHL experience for the purposes of winning at the AHL level, but won 0 playoff games. Not to mention nobody down there could step in and play meaningful minutes here besides puustinen I guess.

nah. that roster was not built to win in the AHL. I saw them twice this year. it was a pretty good definition of “spare parts”

Dubas said in his postseason presser that he wanted to evaluate Blomqvist in a playoff situation before making a decision on what he wanted to do about the goaltending situation for next season. With the Baby Pens only playing 2 games and losing both, I wonder if that evaluation becomes an incomplete on the report card.

3 game series are dumb. Years ago the NHL opening playoffs were 5 which is much better.

The NHL had three game preliminary round series from like '75 to '82 or so...

Yeah not sure why they need 23 playoff teams instead of 16

Yeah when they add their 38th franchise in Oklahoma city they'll have to expand

can I pay more to not have any of my revenue go to the pirates?

I have to imagine so...otherwise, getting ESPN+ for 500x the content and half the price makes this mostly irrelevant...

"Introductory rate" of $17.99, sounds like a cable company. What is the actual price of it?

I'll just pay the 6th months during Pens season and cancel it after unless they decide to make a Pens only option

From what I saw on TribLive, NESN runs a similar app and it goes for $30 a month.
Their app runs in 4K, but that's not enough to sway me from my current setup. Even if they offered NESN and SN-P in one package, that's still way too much.

If they offered true 4k (or even upscaled) I'd be more interested at least for the Pens. No interest in Pirate games. If not...then I'll stick with ESPN+ and VPN setup.

I'm interested to see if it has DVR capability.
