Why are they refusing to dump and chase?
On the power play...? :/
When the Flyers have four on the line, you need to dump and chase. You got one more man, go in there and outwork them.

Generally, a power play that dumps it in is out of ideas. HCMJ prefers carrying it across the blue at ES...he's not gonna let a fairly standard PK forecheck stop him...it's much tougher to get going on the PP after a dump...

Just an observation, that I'll not want to clog the board elsewise with: hockey as a whole has become wrestling on skates in many instances, as this game showed. Either call it tight or call it loose, but make up your ********* mind NHL as to what you want to be as it is not really clear right now, other than nobody seems to care, outside of a few teams or players, that the written rulebook isn't the in practice rulebook.

I'm not worried about that. The play in this game is heavily weighted in the Pens favor so far, just they don't have a lead. They have a third period like the first two, I like their chances to win the game in the 3rd.

I'm kinda surprised more teams that rely on skill aren't complaining. But meh, it seems like a fan & local-beat-writer thing only.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I think games late in the playoffs often devolve into looking like this, but this year it seems that the game has been called with this lack of rule enforcement since January or so. The passion and effort-level is compelling TV, I guess, but there's a reason EPL games are getting higher ratings on NBCSports now.

Now, that being said... from a business standpoint, missing the playoffs would be a big deal, especially for a team that so constantly spends to the cap limit.
