Bruins/Avalanche are the top two teams in the league so far (short sample size, I know) in Total Goals/Game and they're facing off tonight with an o/u of 5. I got crap odds on the over (1.690) but it has moved to 1.714 in the last hour. Thought it was worth a small wager.

Fractional odds are for tricking bettors, and moneyline odds just don't work with my brain. Decimal odds are straightforward. Multiply my bet by the odds and boom, my payout.

Haha I'm joking

American odds (never heard them called "moneyline odds") took me a while to figure out. It's also impossible to explain to someone

...I am pretty sure i've referenced them as moneyline odds a few dozen times since the beginning of football season when I started online gambling. That surely an exaggeration, but I do weekly bets with them and reference them as such here.

I assumed you meant you were betting the moneyline

idk, it's just confusing because I usually bet the spread

I have no plan for tonight with Falcons -4 @ Saints. Teams are too ugly.

Under at 52, maybe.
First half under is 26.5, I might actually take that.
I don't want to go near the spread.
FG Prop is the seemingly standard 3.5 o/u total, or 1.5 per team. I'll probably play the over on one of those.
Total completions o/u Brees 26.5 Ryan 23.5 seem like slam dunks for the over, both at 1.741.

Pens are -1.5 with an o/u of 5.5. Probably won't take either of those.
You can bet that either team will get a shutout and it pays 5.25.
Player props aren't open yet.

Yeah, I'm steering clear of this as well. I might look for an alternate over...even for a Thursday, I could easily see this game clocking up towards 50, 55, 60 points...but really, it just doesn't pay...I'll probably stay away all together...

I got Falcons -3.5

this, along with the Pats and Broncos are "MIMH's best bets"

my best bets are usually just some combo of the Broncos, Pats, Packers, Falcons and Cardinals. I refuse to take the Bengals as a best bet because Dalton eventually will have a 4 int game

eh, I think Ryan has proven to be a pretty serviceable QB in the league.

Yeah, I looked at that. Along with the Ryan passing over 285.5 yards. About to make my picks.

Ended up going with Saints over 1.5FG and Matt Ryan over 23.5 completions.

Against the Senators at home I took Craig Anderson over 29 saves, and Kessel over 3.5 shots. Ottawa has given up the most Shots Against in the league by a healthy margin so far, and Kessel has the 2nd most shots on the Pens averaging 4 per game.
Malkin was at 3 and the safety net of a push was inviting, but that would be half of his production so far this year. No thanks. I feel like that Anderson prop is fairly safe as the Pens are averaging 31 shots a game so far, and they're probably going to be a little desperate.

I did $5 on kessel over 3/5 and $5 on the pens losing the first period 2-1. So I broke even.

I wrapped the Craig Anderson over 29 saves early in the 3rd period. Kessel got his 4th shot with 3 minutes left, the last Pens shot of the game. 2/2 there and still 100% on hockey bets so far. I think that idea of a greater edge vs. the NFL has some merit.

Just switched to the football game. DVR'd it so I can burn through it pretty quick. Fun night.

Saints have a missed FG and went for it on 4th and Goal for a vanity TD in addition to the one FG they made. Probably the last time I prop them on a FG bet because it's the second time this has happened this year.
