If we do it based on prior season's standings, rather than just doing reverse of standings, how about we let last place select their draft position first second to last pick next, etc?

And for the record, i dont care how we do it, i think the current set up is fine.

If we do it, I'd rather do this. Personally, I don't think 3 keepers warrants reverse order of standings, but meh.

I think the issue for me is that draft position has a great impact on keeper values for the early round keeper guys. I don't think that value going into the season should be determined by random chance.

I'm still undecided on whether I'll be back in the LGP Fantasy Hockey League, but I'll happily yield my commish status to Pitts, Idoit, or LITT, the people who really have been running it the past couple years.

I edited the title of the thread since we've pretty much been using it for the league anyways.

Is everyone back for next season? I'm in and I figure Craig, Kraftster, beerman, Troy, and Kicksave are back since they have listed their keepers. Beveridge said he would pick up a team if anyone is not coming back.

We should probably set a date for keepers to be named and for the draft to begin since in some cases the draft has taken more than a couple weeks to finish. The notification capability of the board should help speed the draft along so we could start later to minimize the effects of preseason injuries. I'd say we should have keepers set by the end of the month and then the draft begin on the Monday after the Hall of Fame game which would be August 10th at the latest.

I'm in. are you guys interested in doing a lottery type system for draft slots? (while keeping the snake draft).

I think the random order is too regressive and this would give some draft advantage for teams that miss the playoffs. I liked Idoit's idea of the lottery team selecting their draft slot.

For the hockey league, I think we have to keep it where the last place team from the year before drafts first (since there are so many more keepers and less players to choose from), but for this league, the lottery is a good idea.

I think that there is generally a positive correlation between having a good team and having good keepers. Also, having good keepers lends to having a good team. So there is a direct connection, so that's why I think the random draft order is too regressive.

By the way, my keepers will be:

Eddie Lacy for a 2nd
Martellus Bennett for a 7th
Rashad Jennings for a 4th

Still need confirmation from @mikey, @shafnutz05, @LITT, @Loaf31, and from @Craig if his "friend" is still going to manage TheHammers old team

Also, do we want to change the way the draft order is changed? I say if we get 7 people in favor of the lottery system over the random order, we can change it.

I updated the first post of this thread to reflect the membership last year and who has responded as being in. The only difference with your list is that Hammer quit last year and his team was taken by one of Craig's friends. Loaf has been MIA for the Baseball league so I'm not sure if he'll be around.

As for the lottery system, I say just go with it at this point since we've had no objections and we've been talking about it for over a month now.

If we're finding new GMs, if you guys don't mind, I'd like to get someone from here. Someone who will be active on the board. Someone who doesn't have adblock.

But seriously, having people interacting on the board is best. It sucked when I couldn't post on LGP for the draft and had to proxy through the FB page and through texts.
