Indeed it is. But the pay is good and my bonus was sizable this year. But today, in dealing with this idiot, my resting heart rate is 73. It's usually upper 50s/low 60s. I just can't keep doing this. It's the literal definition of insanity.

Also, you mentioned this gov job for $10k less, why not pursue another job that doesn't pay $10k less...? Because that other situation doesn't guarantee a solution. It solves this problem, but it doesn't guarantee that a similar situation doesn't happen to you elsewhere, right? Because there are pe...

I should also mention, I have also discussed this issue many, many times with my boss's boss (the SVP). Who insists he will discuss it with Lou. You can see how this has gone.

Have you went to your HR with the mountain of evidence? I haven't, because I don't know how that will go - will they talk to Lou? Will Lou think I went behind his back trying to get him in trouble, just like Mavis did to me - even though I have proof of my issues? I get told so often that HR is onl...

Ok, 5AF, I need your best advice. I'm going to try to condense as best I can while giving all relevant info. Currently in a role in the finance field where I have "manager" in my title. In Sept 2021, we hired a direct report to me with "Senior" in the title - let's call her Mavis. Within 6 months it...

McKinsey is a joke. Complete moneysuck. Company used them to assist with a merger and what we paid them was more than the combined GDP of several small nations. But it's almost like a corporate status symbol if you "bring in McKinsey."

I really like listen to Dickerson and Crowley on the FAN morning. Love the way the two interact and just enjoy them in general. A few months ago, I almost purposely drove my car off the road after being subjected to the following (as condensed by me): Dorin has no idea that the song "The Gambler" i...

Also the "fine I'll say it" thing about people not returning from maternity leave made me lol. I like that you thought we were all thinking that and nobody wanted to say it. It sounds like you've had an experience where somebody took maternity and didn't return and now decided that all new mothers ...

The 4-8 weeks is if she is friendly with boss/coworkers with the caveat of not knowing her job or the talent pool. I've worked for people that I wouldn't want to burn bridges. Ok. I'll say it. Whenever someone goes out on maternity leave, I automatically run under the assumption they aren't coming back. Can't tell you how many times a woman goes out and *insists* she'll be back...and more often than not, there's some issue (real or totally fabricated) that causes the leav...

Thanks for the input, fellas. I do take 5000 IU of D3 every day. Since bariatric surgery, I have to get my vitamin levels checked every year. @shafnutz05 - Do your best and if they end up canning you (which I don't think they will), then you'll know it's not the kind of place you want to work anyway. Bonus is, you've gotten a nice promotion before exiting that you can leverage as you seek your next place of employment.

New 'corporate-ism' being beaten to death around my office. Company is worried about cash flow going into year end. New catchphrase is how we have to "sharpen the pencil" on any calculation that results in cash outflow. "Sharpen the pencil" on that estimated tax calc, "sharpen the pencil" on account...
