Another night of winter soccer, another 10-1 loss, accompanied by a crying 11 year old on the ride home. I’m just disgusted with this season, and would prefer just not showing up to anymore games. But that’s not us, so we’ll continue to suffer. There’s a team in our basketball league like this. I f...

I have 650 bucks burning a hole in the IRS’s pocket but I need my wife’s W-2 for the one day she worked in 2023 before I can file. Her new company is not being very cooperative in sharing that info One day she worked or was paid? Big difference. Is it? Guess I won’t know until she gets her damn W2

I hit Aldi first and whatever I can’t get there it’s big bird. I splurge on meats at a butcher and occasionally Sam’s club, but I didn’t even figure those two into the $200

I’m just commenting on the general optimism after their ending last year. It isn’t warranted

Dodint's Thread of Pirates 23-24 Offseason Optimism

I feel like that last stretch of mediocre play was smoke and mirrors. Reminded me of a year during their 21 straight losing seasons where they finished 30-30 and everybody was ready to hand them the World Series the next year. Prove me wrong, but I just don’t see one player, as good he may be, overc...

I always feel like hospital fundraisers are like, what? do you know how much healthcare costs in this country? and you want me to "donate" more money???? Replace hospitals with elementary schools. I get 79 emails a day where 99% of the content is fundraising and 1% is some important info that I nee...

I’m a mechanical engineer. I design and make things that move. I like to test those things, help with the manufacture of those things, etc. Being in an office/factory is kind of important. I’d be ok with 1-2 days at home but only if nobody else is there. When my wife or kids are there, they love to ...

My son didn’t do so well with brushing his teeth with braces. The ortho shook his finger at him at a couple of the adjustments. He had to start using mouthwash 3 days a week because his gums were swelling. They come off in a month and a half. He’ll also get a retainer, but I see that lasting all of ...

Mayor of Kingstown had some pretty good moments. Yeah, the writing was pretty ham-fisted, but I enjoyed it for the most part. Season 2 is a completely trainwreck. I can't even believe it was produced as it was so clearly thrown together and half-assed. A couple of the episodes barely cracked the 30...

Going back to the Kyle Shanahan cannot adjust debate. This is what frustrated me so much about Cowher and continues to frustrate me about Tomlin. It’s their way win or lose. No in-game adjustment, no team specific adjustments. As if everything is scripted and they’re playing some baseball simulation...

I’ve coached my kids deck hockey and basketball teams. Helped with soccer too. I have never had or seen a negative altercation with parents ( knocks on wood). Maybe it’s the age groups? Haven’t coached anybody older than 4th grade.
