I **** hate JIRA Ok, I'm officially here now. I thought I was using some clown shoe program with YouTrack, I thought my company went cheap and it was amateur hour. But after exploring Jira, captaining the transition from YouTrack to Jira, and attending parts of "Atlassian University" (lick your own...

Poll: Top Penguins of all time project -- interest?
The more the merrier! My advice is to make a good faith attempt at learning about some of the pre-1991 Penguins. To be fair, our history is pretty bare behind Lemieux...but there are some quality players back there. And yeah, just Penguins career...and we'll do a minimum games played to qualify them...
NFL
Every player puts those motion capture balls on and does the 40 yard dash, various throwing drills, kicking drills, tackling drills, etc. every player's performance is inputted into a big super computer with four or more vacuum tubes...and then the games are played with an AI simulation using the ca...

I'll be curious to see what the examples are that they send around to teach this. Refs then teams (if it's like the NHL process) will get these examples about what is and what isn't...I'll be curious if those become public. I'm sure they will, it seems like stuff gets leaked in the NFL all the time ...

Three elements in the hip drop. Grip - usually high, neck/shoulder. Rotation - Usually a twisting motion where the tackler is becoming perpendicular to the runner. Weight drop - Usually right on to the back of the legs of the runner. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1772275118460309886?t=vJ7CmPe...

I think you'd be surprised. I don't think you get anything close to consensus there. I don't think you get 50 different names if you ask for a top 30. And if you did, it's because of a singular mention - which is not consensus. If you want "consensus", you expand beyond the length of your intended f...

Yeah, Ned takes an OTL. He gave up the losing goal.
Re: Jarry getting pulled. There were a couple that I thought were because of scheduling. Though, the most recent of those (Friday vs. Dallas, a completely unnecessary pull) turned out not to be the case...

Jarry has been replaced 7 times this year.
Binnington, who has played about the same amount of games, has been replaced 5 times...for comparison.

Non-Penguins NHL Games 2023-24
To be fair, he did have 36 goals in an 89 game stretch in 19-20 to 20-21 (shaving off the first games of '19 and the last of '21 to frame it) with the Leafs. But I'm not sure that's too much different of a situation than Edmonton, really. I think he's a 30 goal guy with someone like Crosby today. Bu...

Poll: Top Penguins of all time project -- interest?
Why not start with preliminary lists? I expect only a handful of panelists, and if the prelim lists vary too much, we might get boxed out from a better final list. In place of vetting lists to curtail bias (i.e. if someone submitted a list with no Russians on it, or no players before 1984, etc.), I...

I would hope that the discussion helped to "smooth" your opinion out a bit, right? The idea is that capable folks are bringing some useful points to the conversation. For me, I'll probably end up making a case for a lot of the pre-Lemieux guys...I imagine I've seen them more than 99% of the board at...

With an uncharacteristically long offseason on the horizon, I'm interested in doing a Penguin-centric project. With many prominent Penguins careers now in more or less the rear view mirror, I think it might be a good time to re-visit our history - recent and much further back - to formulate who the ...
