I used to love DK’s stuff on the Pirate’s beat. He would get into his love of Pittsburgh then, but it was genuine at the time. Like little secrets about the city that very few people knew about.

I’m using my extra savings for long term purchases like our next car, camper, big house projects, etc. Would rather gain interest on that money now and pay cash for those items vs getting a loan/credit card for it. Being my mortgage rate is 2.5% I’ll let that ride until a point where there’s enough ...

1223068 Just sad seeing my paycheck get smaller. You could always do something like invest in your 401k for her, and have her reimburse the post-tax amount. That way you're getting the full pre-tax benefit, and she saves a few bucks to make it more palatable. We combine our bank accounts so no real...

Just sad seeing my paycheck get smaller. Also sucks that her paycheck isn’t consistent, so have to calculate whatever %age I want t...

My wife’s new company doesn’t offer any 401k retirement benefits. Not just matching, there are no means to have a percentage of her income taken out pre-tax and into a company-sponsored account. What are my options here? I’m guessing Roth IRA but are there some places better than others? My company ...

mac5155 my 2nd grader had similar issues with his teacher. For some reason it seemed like she was picking on him alone and he was getting in trouble for things other kids were doing also. In the 3rd and 4th grade basketball league I’m coaching in, the worst offender has been a referee. He was arguing with the guy who runs our league about the rules before a game. Referee shoved the rules at the guy, who shows him in the rule book where the ref was wrong. Ref pushes coach. Other than ...

Could West Mifflin be in a more inconvenient location? It somehow takes the same amount of time to get there from Latrobe as it does to get to downtown.
