Cooking and Dining

One year the church my family attended compiled a cook book of recipes from all the members. They mistakenly attributed my grandmother's submission to another woman, and her's to my grandmother. Every holiday after she had a glass of wine my dad would get her ranting about how Eloise stole her recip...

The Rangos Giant Cinema didn't have reserved seating. I'm expecting it to be a **** show. When are you going? We are Thursday for 7. I figured we'd go down around there and have an early dinner at about 3:30, then go over and get in line. Something on their site or their ticketing site said they wo...

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138448&cm_re=a8_embedded-_-13-138-448-_-Product Thats my new mobo/cpu combo. It seems to be powerful enough to transcode one Plex stream to very high quality (I haven't tested more than one, but CPU usage was rather high). The CPU I had been ...

If anyone is ever considering building a home server to store family media, Plex, etc I can't recommend unRAID enough. I put my system together right around the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals and it was extremely easy to do. It was working great ever since until recently when it was randomly freezing/shutt...

Can’t really blame Google here. In unrelated news, I’m not a fan of the new Kodi experience in terms of add-ons. I’m using the No Limits Magic Firestick Lite build, and while the UI is nice, god damn is everything slow. I used to be able to get from the Kodi launch to watching a video in under a mi...

A toned down Disneyfied Deadpool would fail. Why would Disney do that? They release their R movies from their other studios. Not really anymore. They previously had Touchstone, Hollywood, and Miramax operating as full blown studios that would make PG13 and R rated films. Miramax was sold off and th...

Assuming I purchase a bluetooth adapter for this thing (I will, to work with my tablet) is there any chance I can buy a bluetooth speaker and assign it as the back right one? Or is that just asking way too much out of the technology? Thats not how that works. Your only option for "wirelessly" tryin...

should i try searing it before roasting, or after? i just bought a torch, could that help? All your steps are good. I'm so-so on torches, probably get better results using a griddle or cast iron thing. I'd suggest a light sear to start, cook via your preferred method, then a hard sear to finish. Ma...
