I would rather have taken the same path as the Craps and entertained offers for our UFA's... We will barely make the playoffs as it seems right now and I don't think adding Granlund will take us past the first round :( -Trade UFA's for draft picks and cap space -Perhaps flipping CDS for Quick -Have ...

Re goallies: I know that it is expensive to carry a 1A and 1B goalie. However, given Jarry's injury history, I would have preferred a borderline starter instead of a borderline NHLer as his backup. We comitted 1.8 in cap hit for CDS and perhaps we could have signed someone better if we had comitted ...

mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness

I am on record stating that I wanted a 1B goalie coming into this season, just because Jarry can't stay healthy. I still stand by that argument. However, I also wanted us to trade Pettersson for a bag of pucks to free up cap, for example for a 1B goalie, but then the D would have been in shambles ri...

I could live with that mikey. I generally believe that teams that are not top contenders should entertain selling some players at the trade deadline if the offer is good enough. I still remember when we acquired Douglas Murray for two seconds from Sharks, and Sharks still went quite far in the playo...

He’s only missed 48 games in 18 seasons. Wtf? Our guys like to miss 48 games per season.
You can't score if you don't play ;) He just have to take his position on the PPand score empty netters when he is feeling unwell.

That said. It sucks for him to lose his dad.

GDT #40: Pens vs Canucks

Jarry gets injured way too frequently to have CDS as the backup.
Amen

I wanted a 1B goalie during the off season for that reason. However and to my surprise, they managed to keep all major players. I guess the cap room was not there to sign any big upgrade for backuping Jarry,

Holy ****, do your homework on this, this could be a problem - there could be an unwritten thing here, so do it right - but if he's just out there (which I doubt), claim him and find a way to make it work. He's a really talented player... They could have grabbed Ghost for nothing a couple years ago...

What forum am I visiting? Everyone is a manager :O

To my surprise, or perhaps not since I ultimately am working for the government in Sweden, I have been alone at my division this week. It has been awesome to be able to do whatever I think I should be doing :)

If Jarry is aching that badly, then why is he still in the game?
+1

I get that it is embarrassing to lose the Winter Classic to easy, but I would not risk our only good goalie for the upcoming games.

Look at the chart. Do the opposite of what makes sense. I mainly check if any stock has changed value quite much since a "big" news. Usually, I think the market overreacts, so I sell if the stock has increased a lot, and buy if it has decreased a lot. Naturally, I lose sometimes, but I usually trad...

I thought about Kopitar and reasoned that him and Francis probably had the same peak. But Francis had a larger career value... Lol at 205 percent. The case for Crosby Vs Lafleur is a bit interesting. Crosby has quite little hardware, but is probably the best player since the lockout. Edit. Nevermind...

I like how you omitted Bobby Clark from your top of the head list ;) Kick St Louis and insert him ;) I think Francis career value for a franchise is tremendous. He was very good for a looong time and I love his play. But his peak limits him a bit so it is hard to place him. Is he comparable to Berge...

I know that +/- isn't a perfect stat, but it is kind of telling that Rust is a -11, which is tied for worst in the team with Letang. Then comes Crosby and Guentzel with -5 so the stats backs up that they have had some rough games together... Dumoulin is suprisingly +/- 0 now...

I think it is a test of NATO's resolution and an attempt to divide the members. I expect very little to happen, but personally, I would have sunk one of their Black Sea ships and told them that I will sink two next time they make a mistake.

Sorry, I am on Team meow. Unless you have a r-tard as manager, the deadline should be somewhat realistic. "This product you are developing should be released/delivered date xy". Then it is up to the team to either do something "good enough" or communicate to the manager that they need more resources...
