It’s literally begging the fed to have a conflict right before election time. That's exactly what the Rs/Texas wants. Imagine the spin. "Biden usurps states' rights to aid illegals!" "Biden seizes control of the national guard so that more illegals can freely cross the border!" "Biden welcomes rapi...

Imagine how far along these would be had big oil and our useless Congress not killed development. The same way with renewable energy. Carter put solar panels on the White House roof, but Reagan's team had them removed a few years later. Imagine if all of this stuff had got a legitimate shot 40+ yea...

Season 1 of Mayor of Kingstown had some pretty good moments. Yeah, the writing was pretty ham-fisted, but I enjoyed it for the most part. Season 2 is a completely trainwreck. I can't even believe it was produced as it was so clearly thrown together and half-assed. A couple of the episodes barely cra...

I seem to have lost one of the keyfobs for my Subaru. I'm sure getting a replacement from a dealer would be stupid expensive, but what are the best alternatives? Can I trust that a fob from some weird website like generickeyscheap dot com are actually going to work?

Since it ended up on Netflix I wish they would have pivoted away from that network primetime show aura, but given the extreme popularity of the show on Netflix I guess there's an overwhelming appetite for that type of show still. I haven't watched LL so this might not be what you're referring to bu...

I finally watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

What a fantastic movie.
I watched it for the first time two weekends ago and really enjoyed it. I especially loved the parts with Leo and the child actor.

Switching sides, how worried are we that the Middle East is going to keep the far left at home come election day? I know my twitter algorithm skews highly that way, but there's a lot of talk about staying home because of Israel-Palestine. I think it's going to be a major factor in the youth vote. I...

I'll always take any opportunity to harp on entertainment execs being the most uncreative people on the planet. That's because (especially now more than ever) they're not creative talent. They're simply CEOs seeking to maximize profits for stock holders. They don't care about the quality of what th...

A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 70-200 lens is going to blow away any point and shoot. But, as the saying goes, the best camera is the one in your hand. If she's going to be more apt to carry around and use a P&S then go that route. Sorry, but I have no experience with P&Ss and can't recommend an...

Same here. My big hurdle tends to be that he favors telling stories about characters that I have no interest spending 2-3 hours of my life with. That could be part of it. My favorite Scorsese movie is Shutter Island and it's the only of his films I've watched more than twice. And even that I mostly...

I watched Killers of the Flower Moon last night. Pretty good movie, and didn't feel like 3+ hours long. Scorsese's movie's are always one offs for me though. I admire his talent, but I've never really connected with one of his films in a way that makes me want to watch it repeatedly.

A quick google search says the average IQ for a pilot is around 120. That's not all that special. I mean, I tested at 124 in high school, and I'm hardly a genius.

Earlier today Christie called NH Gov. Sununu a liar because Sununu said he heard Christie was dropping out. A few hours later, Christie drops out.

It's such a shame that being a lying POS is a prerequisite to be a politician in the US.

Did anyone hate Musk before he became a wannabe Trump/covid denier pandering to the fringe right? I thought he was universally loved until that happened.

Funny how coming across as/revealing yourself to be a lunatic asshat can turn the tide against a guy.

Any one see Leave the World Behind. My parents watched over the weekend. Said it was strange, just seeing the US attacked in cyberspace and how much that distrupts our world today. I may give it a shot.

For points east I just take Rt. 30 or I-68. I've taken Lancaster to Philly on 30 before and that sucks. So much stopping near fast food and strip malls. If I have to ever drive there again I'll gladly pay to take the turnpike. I tried to take 30 from Somerset to Philly once. Torturous doesn't even ...

I love my Apple TV. The video quality is so much better than the Fire TV I was using before. I sold off all of my DVDs, around 1500, last year. Kept the blu rays and still keep buying more of them and 4Ks. Streaming is fine, but as someone who rewatches movies a lot, I like to own them rather than d...

My spazzy dog who is terrified of loud noises decided he had to go outside at 11:59. I didn't even realize what time it was so I let him out, then I too went to take a leak. As soon as I started going, someone must have shot a block of tannerite. The boom was so loud my house shook. I'm surprised my...
