2019-2020 Pitt Super Panther Sports Thread (With a New Logo)

Some stuff... 1. Mostly with the Kangaroo on Salahuddin. Had some high hopes for him. It sucks to see him go but Pitt has some depth there and they're potentially adding two more really good RBs next year. 2. According to Jim Hammett at PL, Duzz announced true freshmen RB Vincent Davis and WR Jared ...

Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

712050 Re: Threepio's red eyes. I've seen a few theories. I saw some suggest Threepio was hacking into a First Order system and for some reason, it turned his eyes red. I also read a theory that he got hacked or was even re-programmed by the First Order. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/0-0-0 I can...

Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

A couple other things have dawned on me with subsequent looks at trailer 2. * Definitely Death Star wreckage where Rey and Ren are fighting (you catch a glimpse of a turbo laser tower) * WTF with the red eyes, Threepio? * The music that bookends the trailer is Yoda's theme at the beginning and Rey'...

8. Not sure what to think of the LBs. Saturday will say a lot. At the very least, it's good to have a depth chart with guys with actual recruiting pedigree there. I don’t know if I should be excited that it’s a position that has been well recruited and seems to have a lot of depth or be concerned t...

Some thoughts on the depth chart: 1. Peak mentioned in a couple of threads that given the nature of the way the team plans on using him, V'Lique Carter was not going to really show up on the depth chart. Peak said Carter should get significant playing time on Saturday night. 2. There are a few playe...

PantherLair thread on Petrishen is just as reasonable and level headed as I thought it would be. Yep. That thread is a big reason why I mostly just read the boards there and not post as much. It's impossible to have a rational discussion with some of those guys. Like someone in that thread said, if...

2019-2020 Pitt Super Panther Sports Thread (With a New Logo)

I'll parse some stuff in here that I've read on PL. Keep in mind that this is based on the very limited window that the media seems to be given for practices and from some things I've read, they've seen very little, if any, actual play from scrimmage. 1. RB - It seems like AJ Davis and Sibley are th...

Have you seen Martell's girlfriend? He is winning imo Hot damn. BTW, I haven't really followed him. I know he transferred from tOSU to Miami and couldn't win the job. But has he been spouting off or something? Recap anyone? First became a national name because Steve Sarkasian - then at Washington -...

LOL Tate Martell. Martell apparently wasn't at practice yesterday either. I'd say he's the biggest joke of a college QB since Jimmy Clausen arrived in a limo and flashed his high school championship rings while announcing his commitment to ND, but at least Clausen actually started at ND for a few y...

Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. I saw some stuff this morning on PL that was cryptically hinting at a problem, and this was third on the list of "oh $hit" things that could have happened (behind a season-ending injury or suspension to Pickett and Ffrench...I'll...

A bunch of the fellow Pitt fans on Twitter - mostly part of the Pitt Twitter Tailgate group - did a re-watch/re-tweet of the 2016 Pitt-Clemson game last night (and as lame as that sounds, I do say there's something quite nice about spending a nice Friday summer evening out on the back patio with som...

MrKennethTKangaroo and Dickie Dunn Re: V'Lique Carter... I missed that he was listed as a WR on the updated 2019 roster so that was my bad. I remember they moved him to RB in the spring because of Salahuddin's injury and forgot that was only temporary. I think you both bring up good points regardin...

Some thoughts... RB depth issues remind me a bit of 2009, the first year post-McCoy and Larod Stephens-Howling. In '09, the "veteran" returning RBs were Shariff Harris & Chris Burns, and Dion Lewis & Ray Graham were both coming in as true freshmen. The big problem with this comparison, of course, is...

Another Pat Signal. This one is believed to be RB Israel Abanikanda. He's announcing his commitment today at 4pm. 5'11", 195 from Lincoln HS in Brooklyn, NY. Rivals has him listed as a 3-star RB. I'll qualify all of this by saying no one knows how these kids will pan out, and I tend to be overly optimistic when it comes to this stuff. That being said... It's been a while since Pitt football has had a recruiting stretch like it's had the last two weekends. I know they had a June blitz like th...

Hot Dogs - How Often Do You Eat Them?

I was a huge Spenrath fan, but my favorite all-time Panthers player was Daryl Harpe. Real Godin, as well...funnier than hell if you could understand him. We used to joke that Real Godin knew precisely four words of English - "Ronnie" (coach Ron Hansis), "beer", "Lefty's" (Tavern), and "girls". Man, ...

Hot Dogs - How Often Do You Eat Them?

On average probably 1-2 times per month.

I've tried to become much more conscious of healthy eating as I've gotten older but as someone who grew up with them, Smith's hot dogs remain one of my last big food vices, especially in the summer.
