Politics And Current Events

Historically the reason for lifetime appointments was so that justices wouldn't have to run for election and that it would make them less likely to be liable to corruption. There was also an understanding that they wouldn't serve for so long until they were medically incapacitated. I don't think li...

Lindsey Graham in 2018: “This may make you feel better, but I really don’t care,” Graham said. “If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term, and the primary process has started, we’ll wait until the next election.” Odds he sticks to this? It's not in primary season anymore There'...

Honestly, I have a really bad feeling about this. The left wing has been on edge for months (years?) now under Trump. I'm genuinely concerned about what kind of unrest and violence this is going to breed. Judging by social media this might be the straw that makes a lot of people completely snap. It...

Yep. Going to be a fun.

Seeing this on my Facebook feed a lot too. After watching The Social Dilemma I see why. But I don't **** agree with this.

Even more reason to wear a mask during cold/flu season. Probably a good idea but do you really think the majority of people in the south are going to wear a mask from October till March? People have lived with the flu forever without masks and I doubt if that will change once a safe effective COVID...

RIP Terry Goodkind, the author of The Sword of Truth fantasy book series, at age 72.
That's the series that got me into reading. His writing sure went to **** after book 6 but damn.... RIP

COVID-19

My ex used to work on a flu study and she told me that flu shots are based on what is moving around the globe and the strain that is most likely to hit the US hardest that year. Unfortunately it doesn't always happen that way.

I think the CDC estimates 80% of flu deaths are from people that don’t get vaccinated. But what if it's another strain? Flu vaccines aren't that accurate from what I understand. Sure, they do enough good to make it worth it (I get one every year), but wearing a mask is literally the least you could...

Oh my God yes! She's probably the most underrated actress in the world right now. Highly recommend Orphan Black.

COVID-19

For me it is more than an inconvenience. I have COPD and the mask makes it harder to breathe when I am at the gym exercising or even just bowling in my old guys league. I still wear a mask in all businesses and anywhere it is required to help protect other people. It is much easier to breathe when ...

I thought I'd be deleting facebook after watching but it doesn't come off that way (for all but one of the experts at least). It breaks down the psychological impact of social media and, not just the lack of regulation on such an industry, but how people are the commodity in which is being traded.

I haven't watched that yet, but I think I know what you are talking about the narrative thing - highly dramatized almost reenactments of events told by the actual people. It seems to be the new documentary style, as I've seen it in two other recent documentaries (both on Netflix IIRC). Really annoy...

Highly recommend The Social Dilemma on Netflix if you haven't seen it yet. Doesn't really tell us more than we already know but to hear it from these specific people is kinda terrifying. Concur, we just watched it last night. Didn't care for the dramatic narrative stuff, but the interviews were fas...

I still can't fathom the thought process that wearing a mask, even without Covid but during cold/flu season, is such a horrible thing. Theyre inconvenient and uncomfortable. It's really that simple. People would rather be less inconvenienced and more comfortable. So would people who have COVID but ...

Maynard makes wine in Arizona. That's pretty baller.
I tried one of his sparking wines. It wasn't bad but nothing I'd seek out. As long as he's still writing music I don't care what he does lol.
