I don’t mind the regular season OT rule but I’m not really sure why they wouldn’t change it to both teams get a possession at this point

I think that's a part of it but also they own the Carolinas for being the closest team up until the Nationals came about. I guess the O's are a little closer to northern NC but the Carolinas in general associate with Georgia more than those north of the Mason-Dixon
