This may be a dumb question to ask, @mikey, but when you connect your laptop to your TV, are you then hitting the correct function key to move the video output to the HDMI source? If not, then it sounds like maybe the TV is actively waiting 10 minutes to check for input.

How large is large, and what version of Outlook are you currently running?

Personally, I wouldn't consider anything other than a Samsung EVO if I were buying an SSD. I own a mix of 840s and 850s, and for the price you simply cannot beat them.
