NHL aims to reduce goaltender equipment for next season (16-17)

100% agree. the era of Garth Snow equipment needs to end. I'm all for protecting the goalies but they need to be required to wear the proper size equipment. Ryan Miller is a perfect example. have you ever seem him in street clothes? he's a medium at best yet I'm willing to bet all his equipment is a...

many years ago we did comparison tastings of cheesesteaks at Pat's and Geno's in Philly. now, I am not a fan of Cheez Whiz but for some reason I thought the sandwich wit whiz was the superior one.

I intentionally choose flights routed through Charlotte, rather than Atlanta. The latter is a horror show.
maybe I'm just used to it or maybe I just fly at non-busy times but this hasn't been my experience at all.......

Game Center, Center Ice, etc.

A big issue I've had with Directv is losing signal during heavy rain. It doesn't happen too often, but it happened during the Pens game against Florida recently. I lost the HD signal for a few minutes but not very long. during that time I just switched to the SD signal. when I had cable (admittedly...

Cam Newton got what he deserved. dude has been an arrogant ass all year and last night was a major choke job. hopefully he learned that football is a team sport. Didn't play well, but had no help. And arrogant ass isn't really accurate, unless that's just because of celebrations. actually yes, it i...

PNC Field would be awesome. I haven't been to Heinz yet, but PNC has great sightlines and is obviously smaller and thus closer to the playing surface. baseball stadiums are HORRIBLE for outdoor games. in general they're not as steep as football stadiums so if you're in the lower level you pay a lot...

very cool of them to do this. the rinks in my town could never do this since as soon as the local teenagers found out they'd be drinking in the locker rooms and vandalizing stuff just because they can and their rich parents will pay for whatever damage they do.

He's German. It's written into all their contracts that they have to wear Grafs. the T blades are German not the skates. Graf is a Canadian company. as you can see from the picture Seidenberg is wearing Bauer skates. T Blades can be put on any skate. most Graf skates come with the Cobra holder thou...

Somehow I feel like my college playing days are behind me. Way behind me. ;) If Bauer's midrange skate can't hold up to my basic needs then I'm switching brands anyway. Will probably look at Graf's for the arch support that was mentioned. yes, but your beer league career is ahead of you for decades...

I'll take my chances. I have Bauer Vapor x40R inline skates which were $120 and they've exceeded expectations. I'm hoping a few more years of development and going up the ladder a few rungs in the X500 will be adequate. If I actually join a league again and play multiple times a week I'd look at th...

Sid would have declined anyway. Probably. Maybe. You can't decline. You get "barred" from playing the next game otherwise. Crosby and Datsyuk were "barred" 1 game for citing injury that one year. http://triblive.com/sports/penguins/7634798-74/game-star-crosby#axzz3wTMJ0aHx this lends credence to my...

actually since I love a good conspiracy theory, how about the possibility that Sid was sucking on purpose so that he wouldn't be selected for the all star game? uh-huh. all makes sense now, doesn't it? :slug:

anything less than $300 on skates (unless you're buying an older new pair off of Ebay) is not going to be a "good" skate. in the end it depends on how often you play and how hard you are on your skates. I have friends who go through a pair every couple of years but I can get 5+ years out of a pair s...
