Game Center, Center Ice, etc.

I have a Budweiser Red Light That sounds awesome, but then in my house it would be a spoiler lantern since I timeshift everything. I have that happen a lot during the regular season. for 7:00 games I usually get home around 7:30 after hitting the gym after work. it usually takes me until some...

another 1st World problem: I have a Budweiser Red Light and Directv. last night the feed from USA (I just got back from vacation so wasn't home for games 1 and 2) was a full 5 seconds behind the light. the only good thing about that was if the light went off I knew to pay attention because a goal wa...

What time do you start work in the morning?

officially we start at 7:00AM. most people wander in between 7:10 and 7:20. we work most days until about 5:30 and we have very Friday off. our big boss usually shows up a little after 8:00 and leaves around 4:15. he always claims to be "inspecting salt barns" when he's out of the office. whatever a...

Greatest Sports Moment You've Attended

I was at what has come to be known as "The Rick Camp Game" between the Braves and the Mets on July 4th 1985. 19 innings and rain delays caused the game to end at 4:00AM. because I was in high school and didn't have to worry about getting up the next day my siblings and I stayed for the entire thing ...

just got back from a long weekend in Minneapolis for a hockey tourney and I have to say, what a fantastic place! on the downside there's not much to do when it's cold and windy but the people were so friendly and the Excel Energy Center is an AWESOME arena!

If those things are reporting the Basal Metabolic Rate that's a complete sham on their part. A quick look at a reddit discussion 'confirms' that it is reporting BMR. What a joke. I'm happy with my Garmin. It tells me where I've been and how fast I got from here to there. Good enough. just cur...

friend of mine has one that he wears around the house. by chasing the kids around and walking a 1.5ish mile lap around the neighborhood, it says that he's burning 1700+ calories. I don't want to tell him that's not even close to being right since he has also mentioned about getting back into runnin...

We stayed at the beach, but spent a day at the beach, another day in the downtown area, and another day driving to the Keys and back. Using Uber to get to and from South Beach wasn't much of an issue nor was it very expensive. I'd recommend checking out Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and eating at Café...

Anyone use a FitBit. I got a a FitBit Charge HR. Today is the first full day I've worn in, but I woke up and it said I already walked so many steps. Right now, it says I already walked 1200 steps but that seems too high. Same with calories burned. It just seems off. Looking online, it says I went 6...

I love Nashville but when I'm there it's usually for games. last time we stayed at a Hampton Inn just off the Vanderbilt campus. it was fairly priced, offered free parking (there are 2 in the area. only one has free parking though) and was walkable to Pancake Pantry (rain or shine there's always a l...

@IanMoran as far as fun goes, nothing is kid-required. as far as I know there will be no small kids on our trip. we're in our mid-40's but most of our teammates are in their 20's and 30's (all female travel team). most of us are past our "let's get wasted!" phase but we still enjoy a cold beer. our ...

I second Steve's as having the superior cheesesteak. I usually get a wiz with onions and mushrooms. Also agree that a DiNic's roast pork is better than any cheesesteak in town. our trip was 10+ years ago when the roast pork sandwich wasn't really on the national radar. believe me, when we eventuall...

NHL aims to reduce goaltender equipment for next season (16-17)

100% agree. the era of Garth Snow equipment needs to end. I'm all for protecting the goalies but they need to be required to wear the proper size equipment. Ryan Miller is a perfect example. have you ever seem him in street clothes? he's a medium at best yet I'm willing to bet all his equipment is a...

I intentionally choose flights routed through Charlotte, rather than Atlanta. The latter is a horror show.
