You know what really grinds my gears...

Our house was built in 1991. Some time between 91 and 2015, the old owners replaced the panel. They mislabeled or failed to label every breaker. Its been fun trying to figure what controls what.

COVID-19

I had to go into one of our hospitals yesterday. I shook someone’s hand. It’s been 11 months since I did that. It was one of the weirdest feelings I’ve ever had I recently sold a car (private party). After we agreed on the price, the buyer wanted to do a handshake to seal the terms. Absentmindedly,...

What is your winter thermostat setting?

Here in FLA, we keep the temp on at 69-71 all year long. never turn off the AC setting unless the windows are open. turned on the furnace twice - once during the home inspection and a second time when we were getting the system replaced.

The Man in the High Castle is a poorly written show.
craziness! i loved that show. lol.
seriously, from your Deutschland perspective, did it come out as corny, or what about it did you not like? I thought it was slow at times but watchable all the way through.

my company is a little unique. we are a BPO. We basically operate call centers for other people. Our product (people) is also our largest cost. We were moving closer to 15 anyway, but this kicked up the efforts.

How in the world is just saying "let's switch it to $15" gonna take 4 years to do? I know, I know, it's much much harder than that, but that seems bogus. You need to allow business to adjust and budget for that change. I mean that's a 100% change in minimum salary, especially after getting crushed ...

Preferred facial hair style

I've had a trim goatee since I was about 19. I'm 41 now. It was a bit scraggly in the beginning but filled in eventually. I shaved it down really close one time to where it was a little more than a 5 o'clock shadow and I looked like a big pumpkin head. I'll keep what I got.

Correct. Comp guy checking in. Tipped wages are a real PITA. Any time you are paying someone a rate and have to do a true up later, its never worth it from an administrative perspective. Just pay your people, people.

Jumping in on the Santa thing... We made a point never to indulge in the Santa story with our kids. Overall, I've tried to be as honest as possible with them, and even if sounds like this is a fun, trivial matter, I didn't want to mislead them. I know, "I bet your fun at parties" I struggled with th...

Granted, I haven't had Salaritas since about circa 2012, but at that time, their chicken was sitting in a tub of murky liquid and spooned on to your tortilla or bowl. an overall soggy mess. The only thing I would get there is a take home kit, cuz I could *shudder* drain the chicken.
