Week 3, Steelers @ Rams (9/27 @ 1 PM EDT)

Whoever is at QB on Thursday, hopefully the plan is to call plays for positive yardage. I know you don't want to throw the game away, but I was pretty amazed at how willing they were to sit on the whopping 6 point lead. Other than the awful pass Vick threw on his 2nd series that was almost picked, i...

I actually gave this game a shot and usually play a game or two before bed to chill out. Can hold my own in most matches unless someone just had a ridiculous deck. I've had 2 games with epic comebacks down 30-2 and won. I also built a Murloc deck which is fun to use when you play good players who re...

81025 With all of them, it depends on what's running or on in the background. Yeah, most definitely. My S3 - by the end - had been in use nearly three years. That's a lot of apps and crap running in the background. My Droid Turbo is pretty good with battery so far, but I'm disabling notifications a...

I said this at the other place, but my wife's year old 5C gets sick battery life. She go can a day and half without a charge, easily. And she's a heavy user of the phone. My S3? Even after new batteries, it's nagging me to recharge by 4-5 PM each day. Most days, it sits next to me at my desk, witho...

Hamhuis has a NTC, and it's not listed as limited (although it might be). Just sayin' :) Also, given he decided not to sign with us once already, not sure if I'm putting much stock in him doing it next off season. That said: Scuderi and Clendening for Hamhuis and a pick. 3rd rounder is fine, but if ...

After letang - maatta there is no one that's proven the ability to play top 4. It's a lot of hope and pray, which to me means they need all the space they can save to get for an eventual move to improve the blue line. The guys available aren't sure fire top 4 either, so I understand why it might no...

Not excited or mad about this trade whatsoever. He's going to be on the 4th line if he makes the opening day roster. My biggest concern is that he's a guy who has missed a lot of games the last 3 years. Outside of that he's a better first for 4th line C than Adams or Spaling. I don't see this meanin...

Rangers are one of the most arrogant organizations in the league

It's a standard thing to do. Our coaches don't participate in working the refs over in between games. And it works out marvelously, of course. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Apparently we were legitimately targeted for calling out the refs earlier this year. When other teams do it, it's gam...

Avge PP chances are at a historic low league wide. Playoffs always leads to a decline. So naturally, we've seen 5 Ranger PPs.

The soft calls are causing the Rangers to take ridiculous dives every time they are touched. This will be fun for the rest of the series.

We have 3 dogs. The oldest is a minpin who is basically furniture at this point. Sleeps on top of the couch all day. This is Lady Bird. She's our almost 2 year old dane. Sleeps in the most awkward positions ever. Actually not a very big dane. Only about 110 lbs, if that. http://i.imgur.com/aSrFMeKm....

Here's to hoping that Yandle turns in the defensive performance we all know he's capable of and allows Sid and Geno to go ape **** all over the Rangers.

Crosby or Malkin, who would you keep?

They aren't trading either and doing so would not help the team. You'd have to replace their output somehow, and that would require someone of similar value filling that void. The team is measurably worse off if you try to replace one of them with multiple players. $9m comes off the books next year,...

We are missing healthy defensemen in general. Our defense was significantly better this year than last year before we lost 3 of our top 4. Hell, I'd argue our defense is still better than last year even with the injuries. I don't think we're missing Orpik or Niskanen or anyone in particular. We're j...

What If The Pens Dont Make The Playoffs?

And Lapierre and Spaling... that's 3.4 million that can easily be replaced for 1.4

I liked Spaling but man he's been absolutely useless the last 20 games.
To be fair "useless the last 20 games" describes most everyone outside of Sid, Malkin, Sutter, and Hornqvist when it comes to offense.

What If The Pens Dont Make The Playoffs?

While thinking about trading Crosby/Letang/Malkin/MAF is absurd, how can anyone expect to provide any of those players with a supporting cast with that much cap room spent on those 4? That's where I think the biggest win happens when you trade a player of that ilk. Sure, you're going to get draft p...

LOL...Caufield just said nobody wants to play the Pens in the playoffs! And, i think he was serious! It's this line of thinking that pervades in so many places that's poison to this franchise. It's like they have no idea how dire this is. Maybe he meant nobody wants the Pens to play in the playoffs...

I like that HCMJ doesn't sound like a defeated man after a loss.

Meow's (Guest-hosted) Morning Meeting - 4-4-15 vs. CBJ

I just posted this in the GDT, but right now a majority of the forwards looks lost, which is how the D looked for years under DB. The centers (Crosby, Malkin, Sutter) all look good. The forwards don't seem to provide any impact unless they are putting in monumental individual effort like Hornqvist.

The defense right now sucks. Letang, Martin, ehrhoff, maatta, lovejoy and cole is a very good unit, however Even if you toss out Maatta due to his early injury, the D is still very good. Problem is that 3 of the original top 4 are hurt. Lovejoy or Cole likely wouldn't be here if Maatta wasn't hurt....
