Do you still have your old toys?

I still have my Glowworm and Party Popple somewhere at my parents' house. (I think I posted pictures of my popple on LGP, if I'm remembering correctly...)

Pittsburgh Sports Media Thread

Our sports media is terrible. As a whole, they are a bunch of pre-teen girls with stupid drama garbage.

However. Very happy for Jonathan Bombulie; I've always enjoyed his coverage of the Baby Pens.

DK accuses McGuire of interfering with the game

Calling DK a blogger is somewhat unfair. It doesn't really encompass the fact that he is the single best PR flack in town. His work on behalf of the Penguins is stellar.
This made me laugh. :fist:

C. And it was probably only that high becasue of Fleury (who I would give an A, no question). I consider the grade to cover the players, coaches and management. This team is really in need of an overhaul but I just have no confidence in management to actually do that. I'd give the coaching staff an ...

Good column, thanks for posting!
I think this the first time I have ever had that exact thought about a Larry Brooks column. ...Is this a sign of the Apocalypse?

I hate the idea of a buyout. Its a small hit sgainst the cap but i dont like having dead cap space.
I don't care for it either but I think it's better than having a dead roster spot.

And to comment on the original thread topic... This whole situation gave me so many laughs but my overwhelming feeling is that they both look like massive tools. Rutherford really needs to get thicker skin if he is so easily bothered by a well known miserable dork that he can't ride in an elevator w...

Scuderi is the contract I try to get off the books at all costs even if you buy him out. Let these young guys get NHL experience now. Letang, Maata, Cole, and Lovejoy are locks for next season. Use the bottom 2 spots for Pouliot / Domoulin / Harrington / Chorney if they bring him back. Yeah, I thin...

Madden is the best writer amongst PGH sports hacks IMO; I wish he wrote more. That's a low bar. Why is it so hard to get good writers in sports in Pgh? Bruce Keiden is the last great sport writer the city had. :thumb: Seriously - Pittsburgh sports fans are far too accepting of the terrible quality ...

Has anyone had 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon? We had a can pawned off on us at a party last night and I'm unsure about drinking it. I like wheats (even if my belly doesn't) and they lend well to mixing with fruit but I'm not big on watermelon.

When will it be over for you?

I had really low expectations coming into this season (just based on my opinion of the team & how I perceived their character) but they went way beyond anything I could have predicted. I'm quite baffled by everything to be honest.

What If The Pens Dont Make The Playoffs?

Trading one of 87/71/58 is not a solution. Finding the right people to put aroun them is the solution. Completely agree. Trading top players in their respective positions doesn't help the team. The Pens just need to spread money around better than being so top heavy. They need rookies and players o...

People really think we're going to give up a five point cushion with five games to go...that's a little silly... Do they? Yeah, I thought FreeCandy (and everyone who engaged the scenario) made it pretty clear that this was entirely hypothetical... *(Edited for correct OP - I need to drink some more...

8023 He's a good player when he's actually playing, but I don't see any real value in his pest/pseudo enforcer role. Pens are trying to keep Adams from being the stand in punching bag so they can sign him for a final victory lap in the 2015-2016 season... I told Corvidae that I wouldn't be surprise...

I ended up liking Downie more than I thought I would (it's clear that he actually cares which I often wonder about with some other guys...) but his reputation definitely precedes him. He will never get the benefit of the doubt on penalties and, often, will get undeserved calls. (I'm thinking about w...

Honestly, I'm expecting a first round exit in the playoffs this year.

Which is really a shame because of the season Fleury has had - they've just squandered it.
