What's an asphalt/paving scam? They go door to door and aggressively sell “leftover asphalt from another job in your area” for cash today only. Give no contact info. Either take the money and run, or dump some shitty asphalt on top. They also hide stuff in the fine print about when the job is going...

It’s even worse. Apparently they are all running a big asphalt/paving scam across several cities and have faced RICO charges in the past
