Melania seems to be wearing Kung Lao's hat from Mortal Kombat. I'm waiting for her to chuck that thing that Harris and lop her head off.

I don't think high noon isn't the same as regular noon. I think when most people say noon, they mean 12:00. But given the nature of time zones, daylight saving time, etc., 12:00 on the clock is not actually the point in time where the sun is at its zenith in the sky. So "high noon" refers ...

I'm sure a tubal ligation would be much faster and far less painful than a tubal litigation. I've got a case that is still active and will hit its 10-year anniversary later this year. Imagine if it took that long for your jewels to stop hurting.

That forecast looks like Wisconsin. My flight school has a rule that you can't try and start an engine under 10F. Didn't think that would be invoked but here we are. As an aside, thanks to your mention of this policy, which led me to all the googles, I now know way more about piston-engine aircraft...

"In the morning" is only necessary when using that am/pm stuff instead of the superior 24-hour clock. I also think that we should all just adopt UTC. Like in the eastern US our typical business hours would run from 14:00 to 22:00.

Happy retirement to the 73rd Yokozuna Terunofuji, who announced his retirement after day five of the ongoing new year's sumo tournament. Terunofuji was promoted to the second-highest rank of Ōzeki in 2015, but he lost that rank in 2017 after suffering significant knee injuries. Terunofuji had knee s...

Elon says there was a leak. I think he is saying that pressure from the leak itself caused the RUD and not the vehicle triggering the ATFS.

As a huge Vangelis fan, that I did not know this already embarrasses me. In 1981 Vangelis and Jon Anderson of Yes released their second album, The Friends of Mr Cairo . The song "State of Independence" was released as a single, and it was moderately successful in Europe. I knew that. What ...

I think this highlights my point. Morning, afternoon, and evening. When does morning start? Why is only afternoon specific? I would guess that the dividing line between morning and afternoon is probably the one with an exact definition because in ye olde days, even before clocks, the highest point ...

SpaceX stuck the tower catch for IFT 7 today, but it looks like Ship 33 had a RUD before SECO. This was the debut flight of version 2.0 of Starship, has hundreds of changes versus the first version, including a new fuel feedline system for the engines. There was a brief shot of the Ship on ascent wh...

Concur. It can't be afternoon until it's after noon.

:thumb: This is something that I think a whole lot of folks who drive SUVs these days do not understand. To the contrary, because 4WD and AWD vehicles are typically larger and heavier, they will be worse at braking and turning.

I replaced my furnace and AC with Trane units in 2021 for around $9k total. That included removal of old equipment and new lines, thermostat, filter housing, etc., but not any new duct work. Basically pull out the old stuff and replace with new.

This is a pretty crazy story. For "kids" ranging from 12 to 15 years old steal a car, drive to a local gun shop after hours, shoot out the front window (so they already had guns on them), and use hatchets and hammers to smash open cases inside, stealing 55 guns. Two are in custody, and 10 ...
